Spot 67 is one of the best sites. Close to the shore and just the right distance to toilets and water. There are a few steps from the pad down to the campsite. Hosts are nice and park is pretty clean. Water is high at time of review so not much shoreline. Lots of down trees and branches that I wish were cleaned up.

Beautiful area and updated campsites are a plus but maintenance here is lacking. It seems they can build wonderful facilities but they cannot maintain them. When we were there over half the pit toilets in our loop were out of order. They drop trees in the campground but then do not remove them nor the limbs. The bike trail has fallen tree obstacles and is becoming terribly overgrown in places. The floating dock is broken and pulled out of the water. At least the camp hosts were friendly.

I'll start with the good: Restroom facilities were kept clean. But there were other issues that detracted significantly from our experience:1. Campsite was littered with cigarette butts. 2 . Fire rings had not been cleaned out and presented a fire danger in themselves. The amount of debris in the pits indicated severe and ongoing negligence by Royal Elk as the contracted operator. It was disgusting to have to clean out and used up almost all of our garbage bags. 3. COVID health orders were being ignored and not enforced by Royal Elk at all. A neighboring site had about 30 people at it at one point. This is especially disappointing since I had a group site booked for late August and the USDA cited covid as the reason for the cancellation. And finally,4. A bag of feces and used toilet paper was left at our site in easy grasp of our toddler. It was in the immediate vicinity of the ring, and the host couldn't have missed it had they walked through the site prior to our arrival.
