Pine Lake Campground, UT - Latest Reviews, Photos & Campground Map
Pine Lake Campground is located in the Escalante Ranger District, Dixie National Forest (2 hrs 30 min northeast of St. George, UT) with an elevation of 8,201 feet. There are a total of 32 campsites. The campground is normally open from the end of May to the end of September. Sites can accommodate RVs between 20 and 35 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. Fees range from $21.00 to $115.00. Activities include biking, ohv trails nearby, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.
With the current water levels and weather fluctuations delays in water access are expected at Pine Lake Campground. Please plan to have enough water, including drinking water, for your stay.
Due to current conditions, water may not be available to the public until May 10th. Please plan accordingly and bring necessary water for your stay. Current Road restrictions prevent a timely opening of our water systems. We apologize for the inconvenience and we are doing our best to provide water to the public as soon as possible.
Due to current weather conditions and low water supplies, please be prepared to provide your own water at these locations, as water may not be available for the first few weeks of the camping season.

This is my favorite campsite Ive been to - peaceful, quiet, few people, close to the lake and Bryce Park. You can have an evening campfire, such a wonderful place!

Campgrounds were very well kept. Host had a lot of firewood available. Only issue was the ground in the tent area was very soft for and difficult for the stakes.

Really quiet campground for a holiday weekend. There were lots of neighbors, but they weren't overly loud or obnoxious. There is a ton of noise during the day from the atv trails behind the campground, but easy to tune out. Our site had lots of trees, but if I had a choice, site 15 and site 9 are chefs kiss! Will keep in mind next time I camp here. The walk to the lake isn't too bad, and its a gorgeous view, but I wouldn't swim in it. There is cow pats EVERYWHERE, even in our campsite. That being said, this site had tons of shade, but not a huge tent area and it wasn't totally level. You wouldn't be able to pitch more than one tent in this site, but there are great treats for multiple hammocks. Also, awesome that its close to Bryce!

We love this campground and have stayed here many times. One of the things we really appreciated was how clean the restrooms have been. Unfortunately, in the 7 days we stayed this year, they did not get cleaned once. We realize that there was no water, but cleaning the restrooms should have been a priority.

Campground was in a beautiful area and quite well kept. The downside was there was no water- we had to bring in water twice. It would have been nice if cows had not been allowed to enter as there were some spots with cow pucky strewn about.

This campground is nice overall. This site is not covered by a single tree. Sun from sunup to sunset. The picture is not true. I spent 8 days cooking in the afternoon heat. Unless you have a trailer or camper of some kind this site is not a good choice.

There was no running water due to the spring that provides the water being dried up due to drought. The host used stored water to keep the restrooms clean. Per the instructions on the board, we requested the 20% refund on rec.gov, which was given the following. This is our favorite campground in the area.

When we arrived we were notified that due to a dry season there will be no water at the camp (so, no showers, dishwashing, washing hands, brushing teeth...). This is really disappointing. Tent camping like that was difficult and unpleasant. The lake itself was also disappointing: the water was muddy and filled with bugs and we could not get in. The campsite itself was clean and shaded and private.

We love Pine Lake and have been there every summer for many years. I'm sure it is not easy to find a camp host willing to spend the summer. We have enjoyed getting to know some of them and appreciated the ones who introduced themselves and made sure the campground toilets were clean and stocked. The last couple of years have been a bit disappointing in that regard.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Pine Lake Campground. The location was perfect for visiting the Bryce Canyon area. We would have given the rating five stars, but we did not get to stay in the site we had reserved because the campground host failed to properly post the reservation, and another camper had set-up camp on our site the day before and no action was taken.

Campground was great. The campsite and restrooms were clean. We arrived on a Friday without much firewood, planning to purchase wood on site and support the NFS. Unfortunately they out for the night, but the delivery came on Saturday morning. Be prepared for visits at your campsite from the local heard of cow. They came each day and in the middle of the night. Overall great campground and we will be back!

Our group site, wild iris, was awesome! It is a huge group site and we had plenty of room! It was odd that a line of trees separated the tables area from the camping/trailers/cars area. But it worked out fine.

The campground is beautiful with a creek flowing on one side and a beautiful lake. No paved trail but we like riding our E-bikes to the lake on the gravel road. The road to Powell Point is right before you enter the campground and is so worth the drive. The view at the top is beautiful! The campground is also close to Bryce Canyon. No hookups or dump station, however there is water available to fill up your camper. Be prepared to drive your trash out 8 miles to the dumpster. Weve been here twice and will go back again.

Great campground. Close to Bryce Canyon, but yet far enough away to not be bothered with the high volume of people visiting Bryce Canyon. Pine Lake is very close by to enjoy kayaking and water activities.

The site is ideal for large groups - plenty of space, secluded from the other campsites, a big group fire ring, and walking distance to the beautiful lake. The site allows up to 100 people, but there are only three vault toilets and a limit of 12 vehicles.

We really enjoyed our time at Pine Lake! The campground was peaceful and the other campers were quiet. We loved the sound of the creek as we slept! Campsites are spacious, also, plenty of bathrooms, and water spigots! The lake is beautiful, and we really enjoyed watching the bald eagles as they swooped down for fish!! They were much luckier than us when it came to fishing!! We didnt have a fish dinner!

The campsite was nice - clean vault toilets and plenty of water spigots. The major downside for me was the lake. It wasn't good for swimming (marshy with leeches), and it was a long walk away to get to. There also wasn't much for hiking spots around the campground.
