Had to drive the wrong way to have our camp side on the right side. There was a lot of room between sites. We ran our generator (which is not loud) for 30 minutes one morning and some camper next to us started clapping when we shut if off. Generators are stated to be allowed and other people had them.

We were pleasantly surprised how nice this campground was. Campground was well maintained, restrooms were clean, and sites were not packed in there either. We enjoyed our camp hosts for the work they did as well. One suggestion would be to have dishwater sinks rather than drains on the ground. Better signage there would be helpful. We did have a number of red ant hills with loads of ants we had to be careful of. More than we usually see while camping.Would like to return back some day too.

Shade is important for those in tents or without vehicular air conditioning because even in September it was quite warm during the day. The A loop did not appear to have much shade. Many of the sites in B and C loops had some shade. River access was nice and a good place to wade and cool off. Trail north out of campground to split mountain site was nice for an evening walk after the sun was low enough to provide shade. It would probably be nice early morning. The sound of silence hike was very much worth it. But, important to start early. The petroglyphs toward Josie Morris were amazing. In general the desert was breath taking.

Beautiful wooded sites close to the river. Clean flush toilets. Did have some high winds. Great place to stay when visiting Dinosaur National Monument.

Camp hosts were friendly, campsites were large and not super close to other sites. It was clean and nice. Would recommend.

This was our 2nd visit to this campground. It appears to get worse with each visit. CG photos mislead you. There is virtually no shade available here because they have severely cut back the trees. So, it's hot as hell and windy. There are some good hiking trails available, but be sure to start early to avoid overheating, and take plenty of water.
