The lake and campsite were great, and the host was very helpful. As is the case for being outside near water, make sure you bring mosquito repellent. They were out in full force in the early morning and around dusk. I don't remember encountering any during the rest of the day.

Link Creek was great - we hiked over to the lodge for happy hour and enjoyed the water access and beautiful (clean) campground. We camped in a yurt early in the season and were surprised to arrive Friday evening to no water access (despite the website confirming it was on). The camp host was kind enough to give us a gallon of her water, but I would have appreciated notice that the snow impacted the water turn on date so would could have packed in water.m

Awesome how secluded and quiet the yurts are, despite being close to the amenities of the lodge and only 15 minutes from Sisters! Was hard to find the winter amenities details of the yurt site in the winter (thought there would be running water) but other than that a great experience! If going in the winter be ready to chop lots of wood!

Be aware that the wood stove is not able to heat the yurt enough to make it comfortable when it's snowing out side.
You can fit approximately two 4x4x14 logs diagonal into the stove maximum which lasts about 2.5 hours. Lake was lovely and setting is tranquil.

Excellent experience renting a yurt. Beautiful setting, lovely trail around Suttle Lake right from the campground. Will be back!

I spent three nights in a yurt in mid-November. The campground is closed to camping at that time so my only neighbors were the two other yurts. The woodstove was great to have, but it turns out yurts don't hold in heat very well. The highway is just a few hundred feet away so I was expecting traffic noise, but it was even worse than I was anticipating. It's not as bad at night, but otherwise it's a constant presence all day long, even inside the yurt. I recommend hiking the four miles around the lake, which makes for a pleasant outing.

Overall, the campsite was well maintained and the camp host polite and attentive. The real bummer is a group of addicts set up next to us. Traffic kept rolling through, stopping at their site into the late hours (past 10PM)... cars that seemed to know where the site was, but didn't stay. We decided to leave that night and head home rather than stay our last night to avoid being kept awake all night. Since we live in Sisters, this was an easy option for us. I will stay again for sure, but do be warned that because of the camps proximity to HWY 20 and 126, this camp can be a good spot for folks who are dependent on access to the highway and the town of Sisters where camping is slightly more than an incidental holiday activity. Now, that doesn't mean inherently "bad" people are staying here. No way. Everyone was having fun, swimming, boating. Good family stuff. It's just that we ended up next to people dealing drugs and the ensuing traffic associated with that kind of activity. Can't expect the camp host to get involved. Other than the traffic and the busy activity typical of methamphetamine use (like cleaning/buffing-out the car at 10:30 PM.. while camping) we were aware of, had we been in another site somewhere removed from the tweeker activity, our stay would have been flawless.

Great experience. The yurt was good to find with the other trip on the last part of them to get back around in time.

First, there was no water," It was supposed to have been turned on " said the camp host who had running water at his sight, but offered us none. Then there was the sketchy wood stove inside the yurt , with nonworking detectors. We did not have a comfortable experience.

Cozy spot to have a White Christmas! If you are staying in the colder seasons, bring more firewood than you think you’ll need. Lovely three mile walk around the lake, and several hiking/snowshoeing spots less than a 20 min drive away.

The wood stove is too small to effectively heat the yurt on a cold night. We always kept our down coats on. If you know this before you go though, you can adjust accordingly. Also make sure you bring short logs (10" or less long).
