Paulina Lake is incredibly beautiful. We enjoyed hiking around the lake and to the Paulina Falls during our short stay. Our campsite was next to the lake, and there were many insects flying around including mosquitos. We never saw a ranger, and no firewood was available for sale at the campground or the little store next to the nearby lodge. Unfortunately, the ranger station across the street was unexpectedly closed on our days there. Consequently, we did not get to see the exhibits and information about the volcanic history of this area.
This seemed to be a popular lake for boating and fishing.

The campground was very nice, although even though it shows campsites right next to the lake, there are so many bushes you cannot see the lake. The there were a couple of restrooms, no showers. We were there mid-Sept. so there weren't any people at the campground, which was super nice and quiet.
