Just returned from our second camping trip to Little Crater. What a great spot! The only negative was campers who played their music on outdoor speakers during both trips, and impacted the peace and quiet. We really had no desire to listen to Chicago - we camp to get away from the noise and enjoy the serenity of the outdoors. So would love to see more courtesy for other campers, and ideally, signs posted that say "No Music". With earbuds, anybody can enjoy their own music without imposing on others. Hot Springs and Lake perimeter walk were really fun, highly recommend!

We love this campground for it's proximity to the water and hiking. The walk to the hot spring is also a plus. The kids don't like the "seaweed"...but that's a lake for you!

This is an absolutely beautiful campground. We had been here before but only for day use. I knew the weather could be crazy, but I didn't expect hail and snow in August! So be prepared - bring your swimsuit and your down jacket you may need both. There is firewood available for purchase from the camp host. Bring a kayak or rent one, you'll want to explore the lake. The fishing is great and the water is great to wade in a cool off on the hot days. The little stores at both East Lake resort and Paulina Lake pretty much only have essentials (ice cream, fishing tackle, snacks, beer, propane and smores). So, plan well or you may have to make a trip to LaPine or Bend if you forget anything. We drove to the top of Paulina peak and checked out the view at the overlook which was outstanding! Be extra cautious as the road is narrow in places and has some blind corners. Well worth the drive. Can't wait to stay here again.
