Lovely campground with everything you need. Hiked the loop counterclockwise and stopped for a dip in hot springs. Very peaceful, relaxing, not too crowded and clean. The camp host with helpful and attentive. I was at spot 38 which was right next to the bathroom and water so I pulled my car back into the space to block the view of the outhouse. Variety of spots open and a mix of either on the lake or near the trees. We visited The Obsidian Flow which is super close and highly recommend a stop there. Looking forward to a return visit in the future. Such lovely nature and medicine that I will hold in my heart as we go into fall. PS- super super cold at night so I recommend extra extra blankets and layers to stay warm.

The lake was beautiful!Lots of interesting oddities; obsidian sand, hot springs, volcanic monument, etc.The camp hosts were completely unavailable with a sign that said "off duty" for our entire four day trip. I guess they must have been out in the lake fishing or something the entire time we were there. So don't expect the camp hosts to be helpful or even available. We had a wonderful time!

The lake is nice. Lots of people around, though. It isn't unusual to setup your tent 20 feet from someone. Bathrooms are nice. Garbage is close by.

I reserved two camp sites our groups stay the first site was #15 arriving July 17th departing July 22. The second site was #12 arriving on July 17 and departing on July 26th. We ended up leaving early from both sites due to campers in site # 10 being rowdy, loud, using vulgar language and having multiple dogs in their camp that barked and whined continually and they were off leash most of the time. One of the other campers in a different campsite confronted them to ask them to keep dogs on leash and control the barking (it did not help). When we tried to contact the camp host they were nowhere to be found. As for the campground host they were non functional when we did find them and ask them to do something they did nothing. All they seamed to do was drive around in the golf cart. Also the vault toilets in the camp where disgusting, when we arrived on Sunday they were already full and were not pumped until Wednesday. and when I say full the waste was up to the level of the concrete floor. Also the inside of the toilet buildings were dirty and the stench was very bad, (worse than I have ever seen in all the years we have been coming to this campground. We ended up cutting our trip short because of the failure of the camp host to maintain a quiet, peaceful and safe camp and a failure on the part of whom ever is responsible to clean and maintain the facilities at this camp
