Great weather, great spot next to water. Campsites are a little close to each other.

We've been family camping at Crane Prairie almost 50 years. It's so beautiful and the fishing is wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised to see less ant hills so we're happy you're addressing that. It was odd this year probably from the heat but there were more of the spiders that float down from the trees than we've ever seen before and so many giant webs in the trees. Luckily they don't bother you except they are everywhere this year. Hopefully it's a once every 50 year thing!!!! Crane prairie never disappoints. The hosts have always been wonderful and restrooms as clean as they can keep them though some campers don't help with that. The folks that run the lodge were very pleasant as well. We will never stop coming!

The camp site was excellent, with great view and right in front of the water. There were large amounts of spiders and mosquitoes tho, but it is to be expected when youre near any body of water when its warm. We had a bait and was able to pull the boat right up the the camp site.

Wonderful lake front campsite. Fit our 20ft trailer well. The birds were fun to listen to and watching the bald eagles fly and catch fish was enjoyable. The only issue was all the mosquitoes and ants, but will be returning!

We've been going over 40 years and the thatching ants have gotten worse and worse. They need to be kept out forest way and not in campgrounds. They are a nuisance for everything. It did look like some past mounds are not active anymore but we had a huge tree trunk in our camp with a million of them coming and going. Soon no one will want to spend time there. But the fishing was wonderful as always and the lake was beautiful

It's as beautiful as always and after visiting here over 40 years I'm glad to see they are still trying to control the thatching ants. They are the only thing that ruins our experience and it's gotten worse thru the years of course. When you're trying to cook outside and they are all over you it's not very enjoyable. I'd like to see them fix the dock at the west end of the campground ...The remodeling of the inside of the lodge was great! So many needed things. Hosts and lodge folks were wonderful. Fishing not as great as usual but there was an algae bloom. Hopefully when we go back it will be better.

We've been coming to crane over 40 years. A family tradition. We're happy to see something being done about the ants finally but we wish they would mark the hills with flags only and not tape. The yellow tape distracts from the beauty. Also too many downed trees and logs. They need to be removed and I'm sure they will be. We will never stop going to crane!!!

Nature is taking over much of this campground. Area is beautiful - we had a ideal location on the lake - the Thatch ants were horrible. We were basically camping on a biting anthill. I would avoid campsite 111 Blue unless you want to deal with thousands of biting ants, in addition to the expected masses of mosquitos. Unfortunately there is an algae bloom going on too in parts of the lake - so even though some were going in the water looked sketchy so we stayed out - and hiked on nearby trails. Right now due to fire hazards, there are no campfires allowed - yet many were burning, and the camp host was not saying anything - including the people parked next to the camp hosts. Even though it was in a designated campfire ring - the rule right now is no campfires at all. It was smokey too - and those campfires just add to that as well.

Love camping at Crane Prairie, has beautiful views. There was a new camp host just moving in when we were there and he was very friendly and helpful.

We've camped there over 30 years. The only thing we notice the last couple years are too many downed trees and brush and limbs laying everywhere y taking away from the beauty and the red ant hills are getting way out of control. So much so we may stop going.
