Very nice campground with great views of the mountains and the reservoir. The friendly hosts keep it everything clean.

This was a great place for some relaxation, boating and fishing. We ended up in a different site than originally planned, the driveways seem a bit shorter than what's posted and we opted for a pull through for our 32' trailer and truck.

Beautiful campground. Bathrooms a bit smelly though

Crane Prairie Campground is well kept and convenient for campers who love fishing and watersports like paddleboarding and kayaking (beware of the underwater snags, though). This year's campground hosts were excellent...friendly and helpful. The nearby Cascade Lakes Hwy offers easy access to many other Cascade Lakes for exploration.

Spectacular view of cascade mountains from the lake

This location was good. somewhat private and like the location to walk out the back to the lake in a small cove. We carried our kayaks down and was a great staging area. Great place to take a walk. Very close the Resort side for fishing gear, ice, etc. Camp host were very nice.

One of the best campgrounds I've been to. Most spaces were wide enough for a trailer and truck to park next to it. Lots of fun areas for the kids to play and the water access was great!

We stayed for four nights in July, from the weekend to the week. Weekend was busy but Sunday and Monday night were quiet and wonderful! Orange tent site 38 was spacious and quite private. Only real issue was the mosquitos and the bugs, there were a lot, like a lot. The reservoir was gorgeous, there's access to watercraft rentals, and coin operated showers at the resort. We would definitely be back.

This is a great campground except for the ants. We had so many nests in our site that we couldn't use the table and had to put a tent on the driveway. The camps hosts were very nice and did a great job keeping the bathrooms clean.

Allowing generators until 10 pm was frustrating in such an otherwise quiet place.
@JohnR2194126 · Camped on Jul 17, 2025 at Campsite #62
- RV campers left their generator on all night, campground hosts did nothing to patrol/enforce quiet times. Overall generators were on 24/7. - We learned the lake has outbreaks of swimmers itch, but no signs are posted warning people

Honestly what troubles me mist is the lack of maintenance overall. Old uncredited for tables that aren't level. Rusting out fire pits, etc. Obviously the fees are not going to maintenance. Camp host was also unhelpful and grumpy.

The camp ground is beautiful and adequate space between camps sites. The camp hosts were friendly and came by multiple times a day keeping the place neat and tidy. It was quiet until a couple of sites near us filled up with screaming kids and noisy generators.

Extreme amounts of spiders, mosquitos and flies everyone. Spiders dropping down from the trees, and the campsite was covered in website in the morning. Great for day-use and water play; however, would not recommend this camp site for those with aversions to spiders, and mosquitos.

Enjoyed the serenity of the lake and the peaceful atmosphere.

Been coming here for a long time. Always enjoy it. Mosquitoes can be rough but to be expected camping next to a lake. Nice to have the resort close for stuff and do many lakes and back roads in the area to explore. Fishing is great if you have a boat.

Overall I would recommend this campground. Its easy access, close to the water, and the sites are large enough to park an extra car or your boat trailer. However. The water supply faucets were either turned off or put out very little water. The vault toilets are terrible! Full and horrible. The camp hosts are rude and grouchy. Questioning us and trying to make us pay twice for extra vehicle (we pre-paid everything online) trying to get us to pay twice for our boat trailer. I heard them get short with several other campers. Otherwise we had a very pleasant week stay here.

We loved our campsite!

We've been coming over 40 years - I love that the ants are getting under control. They were getting so very bad. The restrooms were nice and fresh and clean so the hosts are doing a great job there. We did notice the potable water wasn't available and were glad we didn't bring our trailer as we use that to fill it up. Hopefully that will be fixed soon.

We love the campground setting! The water supply is in desperate need of repair. The campgrounds were very clean. Great job hosts!

Great campground, we loved being close to the water where we could swim and boat for our 3 days there. It has a small store there to get all the necessary things you might need being there overnight or longer like ice, fire wood, drinks, store supplies, etc. Only down side was there were a-lot of mosquitoes during our trip, not sure if it was just timing of our trip or not but make sure you pack spray and such just incase. There are also a lot of these certain kind of ants but they do post about them and where to avoid, they were not as bothersome as the mosquitoes. All in all we had a great trip and would consider returning again!

Great weather, great spot next to water. Campsites are a little close to each other.

The campground and location are great - no issue there. Busy Memorial Day weekend, sure, full campground. But what is completely unacceptable is that the bathrooms were not attended to for THREE DAYS after the weekend, leaving them all without toilet paper. Complete staffing fail ! TP was restocked after we complained to the Forest Service who oversee this campground but that should not have been necessary.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
