We have been camping at Cinder Hill for decades, and we love to fish and paddle East Lake.We were surprised to see the water system was not on - and I need to check my reservation to find out if this was mentioned. We did bring some water along with us as back up, but somehow missed the fact there would be no water available in the campground. Also, there's a large number of trees that have been cut, and are left on the ground, many still fully covered with branches. While our sites were not impacted greatly, other campsites were very messy and unattractive. It is difficult to understand why so many of these large trees were cut, looking at how sound the wood is inside they certainly were not hazards. Also, the campfire rings were full of last season's ash, unburned coals, chunks of wood and garbage. We cleaned the rings out at each of our sites and properly disposed of the garbage, and swept our picnic tables cleaned. It felt like the campground was opened too early as it wasn't ready for visitors yet. One idea we, and the party we camped with, would like to suggest are "rumble strips" in the campground, especially where traffic moves both directions. People drive very fast pulling boats and campers and need to slow down. Thanks for asking for feedback.
