Half the spots are too small for trailers it says can go there to fit. The campground is unkept and the road out had huge amounts of damage so it damages your trailer and truck just getting out. All the spots said reserved but no one was there so it seems most people who book have issues .

The campground is well set out, the restrooms clean, and many of the camp spaces are pull through. Hosmer Lake is a beautiful lake with spectacular views. There is a channel between the upper and lower lakes which is ordinarily frequented with numerous bird species. Fly fishing can be excellent there. In the early summer when there is adequate water level, there is a stream at the end of the upper lake that can be accessed by canoe or kayak to a waterfall. Parking on busy days can exceed the capacity of the lot, thus requiring a bit of a hike. I gave this only three stars as entering the campground and parking lot has an exreme drop off where the pavement ends. The problem existed last year as well, and has not been fixed. Towing a trailer through the drop off could damage either the trailer or the towing vehicle. We were aware of it because of our experience last year and checked it out before camping there this year. as we knew there is a north entrance, we accessed our campsite via it.

I was concerned that with budget cuts, the garbage and toilets might not be attended to. The pit toilets were clean and garbage in its place . Hosmer is special to many of us . Thanks to this camp host for taking good care of our special place.

Site #2 states the driveway length is 40'. I have a 27' travel trailer and it barely fit in the site. Be careful as their site descriptions are not accurate. All pull-through sites are fairly long and should accommodate most vehicles up to 30'.

I have been camping at Douth Camground for 20 years and I love it. It is clean, the meadows are beautiful.

Quiet and relaxing. Some sites could use a little leveling, you dont know what the site is until arrival, our site was very sloped making it a challenge to level up and we never got completely level. Maybe do a bit more trimming of limbs in the parking area of the site

It's a large space, private, shady and quiet. Its far from the boat launch. We've not found that to be a problem, however. The south entrance to the campground and boat launch has a huge drop off where the pavement becomes dirt, which has been that way for 2 or 3 years and needs fixed. Also, I was alarmed that there was no notice at the firepit notifying campers of burning restrictions like there has been in the past. I know there was at least one wood fire when we were there and they were banned at the time. Mosquitos and yellowjackets were minimal when we were there.

Very private and quiet campsite. Close to the lake put in. Camp host very helpful.

We have a large tent and need a fairly large site. We had previously checked out the sites at this campground and made note of the several that would accommodate our situation. We were able to secure one of those sites and were quite happy with it. For the most part, sites are well-spaced and private. The restrooms were rustic but clean and obviously closely-monitored by the management company that attends the campground. The boat launch site was chaotic, not unusual at this popular site. However, the launch site is definitely in need of expansion and upgrade to accommodate the traffic. Despite the large numbers of day users, we enjoyed our paddle, and everyone should do Hosmer Lake at least once!

Sites are huge, some with beautiful views of the lake and meadow. The paddle all the way to the source of Quinn Creek was 1 1/2 hours for this old lady. Water is clear and because the channels are often narrow with big reeds surrounding, the wind get blocked which is good.

The lake is an excellent place for SUPs, kayaks, and canoes. The South Loop is not so great as a place to camp. It has no "lakeside" feel, and the campsites are awkward. They seem deep and narrow because they are so close together on a small road. But it's right next to the lake!

Beautiful, spacious campsite. Too far from the boat launch for carrying paddleboard and canoe.
@JessicaS159432 · Camped on Aug 11, 2023 at Campsite #9
Site 9 had a pull through site. Trailers and rooftop tents will have to stay in the pull through area. But just a tiny walk down is a large camping area with great sunrise views. No immediate water access was 0.4 miles to get to the boat launch.

Easy reservation, spacious campsite. Great swimming for the kids across the road at Little Fawn, and amazing paddle boarding on Hosmer just a few steps from the campsite.

Camp site was clean. Easy access to site, good flat place for tent. Toilets clean too, yes a bit smelly but plenty of paper (I'm a woman!) and no garbage on the ground. Reservation system to book it was easy to navigate. Thank you!

Our site was not well-maintained, where we parked our camper it was impossible to get level without having to do some minor excavation. If you sleep in a camper or your vehicle, avoid site 7. Lots of dogs off leash at sites on both sides of us, hosts didnt seem to care. Bathrooms were falling apart, but they did have rolls of toilet paper on both sides of the throne, so bonus points for catering to left-and-right-handed wipers. There are better maintained and well cared for campgrounds in the Deschutes National Forest. Its too bad this experience falls short.

Campsite was beautiful, Hosmer Lake is lovely. We had a great time paddle boarding on the lake and enjoyed the view from the campsite. Nearby hiking was also enjoyable, though we were pestered by mosquitos even after applying repellent
@KenD4490873 · Camped on Jun 22, 2023 at Campsite #19
Campsite was spacious, but the driveway was pretty sloped, making it challenging to get our trailer level. Also, the BBQ grill wasn't really a grill, just 3 pieces of rebar welded to the frame. Other sites had regular looking grills. The lake is absolutely gorgeous, though! It would also be nice if a notice that there is no potable water on-site was more prominent when making your rerservation.

Beautiful lake. Campsites are spacious and well maintained

This camp spot is better than it looks, particularly if you are tent camping. There is space for a trailer as long is 20' or less, I'd guess. Not a fault of the campground, but I've never seen as many yellowjackets in my life as we experienced. A peppermint spray will at least keep them at bay. We were there the week before Labor day, and the spot across the road, though never occupied, was reserved for the same days we were there. That spot was the one we really wanted. Its too bad people don't cancel their reservations if they aren't using them.

Love this area
@MarthaB6660633 · Camped on Aug 2, 2022 at Campsite #6
The camp sites are well spaced and the pull throughs, with views of the lake are awesome. It's a very popular kayak destination for good reason, it's spectacular paddling and boats are restricted to electric motors so there are just a few. The launch area can get very congested so best to get there early!
@Christine17272 · Camped on Jul 26, 2022 at Campsite #1
Site number one is the absolutely best one. No neighbors close by and two sides just woods and shade and nobody
@PhilP4576429 · Camped on Jul 21, 2022 at Campsite #8
Great campsite! Bring a boat or paddle board in order to explore the lake. Looking forward to visiting again next year.

This is the perfect place to camp if you want to kayak or paddleboard out your front door. The sites are roomy and private and the bathroom was clean and well supplied with toilet paper. Except for the airstream camper across from us running his generator several times a day, it is a quiet spot for rest and relaxation. I would stay here again.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
