Facilities were primitive but nice. The stream had moved away from the camp since we last visited 2 years ago, but that’s nature for you. The meadow is still wonderful to walk in and you will never see more stars at night anywhere in Oregon. It is a great place for astrophotography.

Nice location for views and to get to the lakes, and a nice private camp site, however the mosquitoes were super bad (July '22) and there was near-constant noise from being very close to the road.

We stayed in #2 with our 34ft trailer and the space was large with plenty of room for our trailer and canopy. It was an easy drive to the campground and had a large enough place to turn our trailer around when it was time to leave. The creek was across the dirt road from the spot and was perfect swimming for our 2 year old and had deeper swimming holes that my 12 year old could enjoy. Our 9 year old loved catching all the frogs and collecting rocks from the creek. There is plenty of exploring or relaxing to do here. The mosquitoes start coming out at sun down but bug spray kept them away just fine. There was alot of people coming and going all day that were not staying at the campground but there is so much space that it never got crowded and still felt private. Will definitely be coming back...if Im lucky enough to ever find availability again. We usually disperse camp but the forest service has been blocking all the spots so the campgrounds are the only place to go.

We always enjoy the setting found at this campground and this trip was no different. What was a problem was whomever was in charge of reservation management. We had a four night reservation beginning on a Monday. The site sign has spaces for three reservations, and the very last space was for the reservation before ours. As a result, when we arrived, a first come-first serve group had already set up camp! Fortunately, they were understanding and packed up after we talked it through. Unfortunately, the same thing occurred at the site right next to us. And when the reserved campers arrived, the first come people refused to yield the site saying they would be willing to share since it was 6:30 pm and they would be leaving in the morning. To continue the irritation, the site reservation sign would not end up being updated until the third day of our stay, which meant upon returning from our hike on day two, we had to justify our set up to another first come group who felt we had set up unfairly before check in hours. Needless to say, the site manager did a very poor job.

Beautiful area, great hikes nearby, close enough to Bend for last minute needs. Peaceful campground with gorgeous views of the lake and mountains.

I read a couple negative reviews for this Campground. Simple things, like people being loud, sites not feeling private, etc. but we felt the opposite. Extremely quiet, lots of space, separate trails out of each campsite to the bathroom, close to trails, lakes, town, etc. I would stay here time and time again.
