The campsite was lovely despite being next to the pit toilet (there are a lot of different paths folks can take to get to it so you dont feel like they are constantly walking past you). And bring bug spray, lots of mosquitos in the summer.HOWEVER both our site and our neighbor were "given away by the ranger/camphost" idk if what those people who tried to take our site said is true since we never met the camphost/ranger but both us and our neighbors were present the night before, we were sleeping in our cars so no tents were visible, but we left stuff on our table to show we were going to come back. After spending half a day at Sparks lake and returning, our stuff was gone and someone had tried to claim our site with a camping chair. When they returned they told us the ranger had said nobody showed up and given them the site. Idk if thats true and if they were just trying their luck or not but that soured our evening as we both had things gone missing (long dog leash, our dog's food bowl, and a towel) and had to deal with having an awkward conversation with folks. The sites are clearly labeled as Reserved and with our last name on the site post. Whats up with that! Stop stealing peoples things and campsites! And if its true the ranger/camphost was there I don't think you are able to give away a site just because there isnt a tent visible, plenty of people car camp.Note to self and others not tent camping: bring some paper, write a note you were there (address it to the camphost as i think people are less likely to throw that away), leave things someone is unlikely to want to steal/move, and hope for the best!we all love nature right? lets respect the earth and one another. we are all more similar and alike, than different. be kind.

This campground is absolutely beautiful! Take advantage of the primitive setting but be sure to bring bug spray!

The campground location is great if you are planning on hiking South Sisters.

beautiful area and amazing hikes just a short drive away. campsite was decent, with a pit toilet that couldve been worse. bugs were out bad, and fire restriction was in place so outdoor activities after dusk were pretty much out of the question. thought i totally understand that most of these factors are out of the park services control, and overall it was a great experience.

One of our favorite campgrounds. Quiet, and in a beautiful setting. Only downside is no water.

The location is great, not far from Bend if you need to go to town. The campsites are primitive and dusty but we enjoyed our stay. We didn't stay all the days we registered sure to wildfire smoke in the area. We would stay here again as we love Sparks Lake.

I love this sweet campground. It's about 2m from the lake, so know that. It's located near the meadow, which is stunning and beautiful, with deer and birds and a babbling brook and nestled between Mt Bachelor, South Sister and Broken Top. The lake is REALLY shallow, and not great for swimming (a little duck-mucky) but great for bird watching, paddling and tadpole admiring. The pit toilet has some bad reviews, but I found it totally fine. Bring your own water.

This is a small campground but located in a lovely area that is well maintained. The only fault was a small one, my camping pad was located where the trail to the bathroom is also located, so there was a lot of traffic going through my camp area. The near by Soda Creek is a lovely area to explore and relax beside. The views of the South Sister and Broken top were very nice and the sunset was spectacular that night and the beautiful night sky was worth staying up late.

Freezing cold and WINDY. Some of the campsites are very exposed to the wind. Stinky vault toilet, but nothing better was advertised. Tough to maintain sites during COVID, and I'm sure it's lovely when it's not so windy.

Killer views of South Sister from our site and easy access to Soda Creek was nice. Bathroom is clean. The only negative is that you can hear the road traffic from this campground.
