Beautiful spot with modest but well maintained facilities. Wish I had a kayak with me because that would have been perfect

Campsite was large and good space from neighboring sites. Fire restrictions allowed for campfire, plenty of available slash near enough to get wood from. River access to take vessels onto the lake. Fantastic.

Beautiful quiet campground. Lots of mosquitos but that was expected.

Nice lake to fish. No paddle boarders, and the pressure is very low fished with maybe 4-5 others on the lake. And not as windy/choppy as big brother Lava Lake.

We originally were staying at site 13, but our neighbors in 14 had two dogs they let roam without leashes. They came to our site and charged our dogs (who were leashed, in our laps, in control, and are very reactive). It wasn't fun. They claimed they were "friendly", but obviously were not trained enough to be put in this situation.Lucky for us, those neighbors cut their stay short and left the next morning, leaving their site unoccupied for the remainder of our stay. We decided to move to their site, 14, and really enjoyed it. The hosts were very friendly and accommodated our move. It was beautiful, and we were gracious/tolerant hosts to many of those free-loading mosquitoes. Next time we will be bringing a netted shelter!

Location beautiful. Site great. Well maintained and no issues with the reservation. Nearby Lava Lake Resort has a small store to buy firewood, mosquito defense, snacks, essentials, and gifts. Hikes and fishing right there. Overall rating lower only because the mosquitos were so bad we are unlikely to return and wouldnt recommend. But we cant control nature, only our attitude and I am glad we had the adventure. Another time of year or if mosquitoes dont concern you, this campsite is for you.

Little Lava Lake is a lovely small campground. We enjoyed kayaking on the small lakes in the area.

Lovely little campground. Very close to little lava lake which was great for kayaking. Also, a short bike ride away from Lava Lake. Little store which had food and other supplies was great as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Little Lava Lake is a lovely, quiet lake. Perfect for lazily paddling around in. The campground is small -which kept it from being crowded or rowdy. The only downsides were the mosquitoes and the smelly pit toilet. Otherwise a blissful camping experience.

Little Lava Lake is beautiful, but the campground itself - while clean- is a little worse for the wear. The campground rules and not enforced, and the whole area is pretty well trampled a lot of the natural vegetation is gone, meaning little to no privacy between campsites (despite the campsites being HUGE). Most of the sites are being treated like group camps. There are only two small vault toilets and no dumpsters - just a few regular sized trash cans and cars parked everywhere. People set up chairs and shade tents on the boat dock area making it a challenge to get to the lake. Nextdoor at Lava Lake it looks much nicer and better maintained. I love this area, but at this point its at risk of being too loved and is in desperate need of rehabilitation.

Favorite low key campground that was super quiet. Had a great visit and will be back! Make sure to bring bug spray

Beautiful but the lake was heavily covered with algae. We were advised it was not the dangerous blue green toxic algae but it was too disgusting to enjoy the water for with swimming or boating. The restroom sad clean & the campers polite.

Such a pretty and quiet place - great for relaxation and my kayak. Love the Cascades.

Quiet. THANK THE GREAT CAMPING GODS THERE WERE NO GENERATORS IN USE, SO BEAUTIFULLY QUIET.
#12 has a view of the lake, easy walk to put in our kayak. Neighbors had NO GENERATORS, so blissfully quiet.
Clean toilets, access to trails, easy drive to other lakes, plus NO GENERATORS. Lovely groups of folks at a few neighboring sites, plus the group site, all of whom had NO GENERATORS.

The weather was perfect and the views spectacular as always. This is probably our favorite place to camp as a family but this time there were swarms of mosquitos the entire time and our whole family got eaten alive. It is definitely a camping trip we won't forget and we'll be itching and scratching for at least a week.

Water was low and murky. It is to be expected with the drought.

Our 27' Travel trailer (29' title) was a challenge to get into site 14.
Pit toilets were cleaned each day.

The drought has really taken a toll on Little Lava Lake. The water level was so low, that in the first week of August the stream next to the campground was bone dry. The lake also had a toxic algae bloom, which made water play inadvisable. (Suggest that you go to the Beach Day Use area at Elk Lake for swimming and boating.)

Beautiful site that was spoiled by neighbor in large trailer who Han two generators all day. What a bummer. So inconsiderate.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
