Parking at popular spots gets crowded after sunrise. The facilities at the campground clean and well maintained, night is quiet and peaceful - though strong winds are a challenge some nights, especially if camping in a tent.

We love this campsite. Its so convenient to all the major sites in the park and there is a small hotel with amenities right next to it that is walking distance. We stay every year!Just note to stay closer to the main entrance. If you stay near the private RV lot associated with that adjacent resort, you can get loud noise from disrespectful guests- music/generators at all hours of the night- since they are on different rules and cant be managed by the park rangers/camp host.

We stayed at the Furnace Creek campground for 3 nights in early February. We ended up staying at 3 different sites because I couldnt book 3 consecutive nights at any one campsite. We stayed at sites 21, 80, and 40, all of which were good. However, 40 was our favorite as it was close to the bathrooms, dishwashing station, dumpster, all while being a corner site with only one neighbor. The bathrooms were clean, dishwashing stations were very convenient, and the campground was a central location within the park.

Site 80 seems to be somewhat typical for much of Furnace Creek campground. It is out in the open on three sides with a thin tree line a short distance behind it. It's the desert so one can't expect much privacy in a campground. The sit is level, the facilities were nearby, and there was no real noise. The view of the night sky was good.

We stayed at the RV campsite and loved it, well located next to the visitor center, with a place nearby with fresh water and dumpstation

We love this campground right in the middle of Death Valley. Feels remote but close to visitors center and market/restaurant. Campsites are nicely spaced, atmosphere is always friendly. Rangers are great, wonderful attitudes and very helpful. We have been here many times and looking forward to many more stays. Highly recommended.

The timing on switching to first come first served is very confusing. We booked online and thought the sites turned to FF while we were there. That was not the case and we lost our sites. We drove 12+ hours for our spring break to find ourselves without camp spots. Not a great situation. The rangers were not sympathetic or helpful at all.

The staff member at the campground entrance was helpful and provided important safety information. Liked that there was plenty of room for two vehicles traveling to place a truck camper and a car with a tent. There were many camp sites where this was an option.

We had a great time at Furnace Creek. It was dry camping for us and we made it work. There are a few spots with utilities for RVs but it would be nice for more. Full utilities are hard to put in, but power is the really hard one to live without. We run generators to produce the power and it would be great for everyone (including tent campers) in the campground if we didnt have to do that. Generators are noisy and disturb campsites all around them. Please more power sites.

No place like Death Valley... awesome hikes, views and drives but be prepared for the cold in winter and some crazy sand storms.

Centrally located in Death Valley, this is a nice organized campground with all of the basics nearby. This was an excellent home base both for exploring the park, and just enjoying the dark skies. Be sure to bring groceries, as the store at the ranch has a limited selection. The only real negative is the lack of usable cell service: apparently both Verizon and AT&T 'roam' in this area, and during my visit there was simply not enough data on either carrier to do anything useful except in the middle of the night. Calls would repeatedly fail to connect with a "Network Busy" error. Pretty frustrating as the signal is very strong.

The Furnace Creek Campground is centrally located to see the best Death Valley has to offer. There were some drawbacks. There was a sewage spill that closed several full hookup campsites. There was no projected date of reopening. There is NO recycling program at the campground. There was in the past, and when we asked the kiosk ranger, they said the park service found it too expensive. California law requires recycling. Not a good look for the NPS to ignore State Law.

Spacious camp sites with close proximity to the Visitor Center. You can walk over to the Death Valley resort adjacent to the camp ground. Cell signal is 3G and useable. The grounds are well maintained. Wonderful experience!

We had such a great time at Furnace Creek Campground. I love how convenient it was to the visitor center and it had nice areas to walk. We met a camp host that was very nice and we had an enjoyable conversation about things to do.

Great location for accessing sites in Death Valley. Campground was relatively quiet during the week (mid-January). All campers were respectful of rules like generator and quiet hours. Restrooms and dish cleaning stations were pretty clean and the campground staff did their best to keep up with the cleaning and maintenance. Some sites were pretty close together but our section was nicely spaced and plenty of room (site 80).

You must visit Zabriske Point at sunrise, Badwater Basin, 20 Mule Team Road and Titus Canyon. Furnace Creek campground is ok, but if you want peace & quiet and no generators, checked out the first come - first served Texas Springs!
