Furnace creek is one of the worst campground Ive stayed in a National park. The sites are uneven and on top of each other. There is no reason for how close the sites are to each other. You can hear the generators from other campers run all night, even in the tent only side. Other campers had no idea about light pollution caused by their string up lights nor any sense of car door slamming. I guess the rangers have decided not to enforce the quit hours. Only saw them drive through once the 5 days I was there. I may stay here again, but it will only be because I have no other choice.

Nice camping location in the middle of the Death Valley, close to many prominent geological features of the park like the Zabriskie Point, Golden Canyon, Badwater Basin and others. Not too much tree coverage so not too much privacy. Bathroom were very clean. In the winter at night freezing temperatures can be reached. High winds and sand can be issues, so build your tent accordingly. The park Visitor Center has Wi-Fi and is at walking distance. The Ranch Village, still at walking distance, has food court, a very nice saloon, a general store , an ice cream store and a post office. I think you can also take showers there for a fee. We found gas being more expensive in Furnace Creek than in Stovepipe Wells. Unfortunately noise travel easily throughout the campground and some campers were not very respectful of the quiet hours.

Not enough bathrooms for this size of campground. Bathrooms not cleaned the weekend we were there. Campsites too close together. Would not stay again.

Best campground and site we could’ve asked for. A beautiful mountain range was right in our “backyard” that we set up chairs and star gazed every night. A large enough space equipped with a fire pit and picnic table, and within moderate walking distance of the bathrooms. Early March was best time to go, but be prepared for chilly nights! Excellent and friendly staff, would gladly come back!
