I was a little concerned about this location after reading other reviews and seeing that it was a walk-in site but I would much rather have had this site than the one we stayed at the second night. It is a great location, opens up to a field, has shade throughout the day, and is a little more isolated.

Great central location place for everything. Camp was clean, quiet and spread out.We had walk up site and we loved it, we tent camp so the option with no rv with generators around us was a huge plus. Loved it

My daughter and I had a great experience at furnace creek campground. The staff were extremely helpful and the facilities were excellent. Stargazing at the borax mine was as highlight of our trip and also the sunsets at Zabriskis Point. Death Valley is an amazing national park!

Stayed for 2 nights in site 121. This specific site was fairly quiet with a great view of mountains and had a tree for shade. Its not too close to the bathrooms or trash, making it relatively quiet (depending on who your neighbors are). The campground was conveniently located close to several amazing sights.

Some spots are good and some not so much. 133 was our second spot and its too close to others like right in between families. Spot 121 was much nicer and just across the way. The campground was clean and local to many attractions to see. I would love to come back.

Furnace creek is a great camping area, with some wind protection and the usual camping amenities. We enjoyed climbing Mesquite dunes, hiking in Golden Canyon, walking on salt flats (a short drive down the Westside road is much quicker than traipsing out onto the flats at Badwater), and climbing the small waterfalls above the natural bridge. We did not have cell coverage anywhere in Death Valley or Panamint Valley with Verizon (Mar 2023)--I think that went away with the 4G "upgrade," although there may be plans to bring it back again in the next year or two. Nice to be off the grid, but don't plan on trying to contact anyone or look anything up online. My son discovered that the penny smasher machine at the Furnace Creek visitor center will operate with only one quarter. You could use the savings to buy a little more gas on the way out.

Campsite was nice. Clean and convenient facilities (bathroom, dishwashing sink).

Great campsite. Even though the website said my site was the only one available for that evening most of the sites were empty. I had a wonderful site with plenty of room between tents. It's too bad that the reservation system is so off putting when so many sites are available.

The camp site is very clean and quiet. We booked the site which needs a little bit walk. But its not far at all. We will definitely come again.

We stayed in the tent camper loop and didnt have any problems with noise from the RV generators. Site 121 had a great, shady tree, and the metal picnic tables are moveable. The bathrooms were clean, well stocked, and the water tasted good!

The camp host of the day acted as a cop in a harassing, intimidating, passive-aggressive, and interrogating way. She wasn't welcoming at all from the very beginning. I felt singled out and left the site early instead of getting another site as she suggested because her way of doing so was horrible. I don't think I'll return Death Valley NP with this negative experience.

We stayed 6 nights at the Furnace Creek Campground between Christmas and the New year in the tents only section. To be able to camp in the center of the park is great especially when you consider the vastness of the park. Bathrooms with flush toilets were clean. Some campsites were extremely close to others whereas with some careful positioning of the tent and the table , others gave a good privacy. In the RV section, no privacy at all. Because the campground is quite big (136 campsites mostly RVs) and because campsites can be very close to another, real quiet can seem a luxury. Supplies in the general store are limited and expensive. Don't expect to find any camping equipment replacement if something breaks. The first day we had to drive to Parhump (120 miles round trip) because we could not repair my sleeping pad. Parhump has a Big 5 Sporting Goods (great and very kind customer service) and a Walmart.

For those in search of the perfect quiet outdoor experience, the Furnace Creek Campground may seem a bit too crowded but again if not for the campground most people would not be able to stay in the park. Prices at the Ranch or the Inn are stiff. So thank you to the parks and thank you to the people who take care of the roads and maintain the park.

P.S for those with a bit of time, check the Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, it is 45 minutes from Furnace Creek thru Death Valley Junction and really worth it.

Great campground, centrally located to some of the best sights in Death Valley. Conveniently close to park amenities such as visitor's center, gas station, convenience store, etc. Really like that the tent campsites are separated from the RV sites. Many of the sites have great views of the mountains to the east and west. Sunsets, sunrises and the starry skies at night were amazing.

Great location within the park. Close to the visitor's center. The tents only area was good so that we couldn’t really hear the RV generators. Lovely views.

Be flexible if you don't have reservations. Many campers are no-shows but don't actually cancel their reservations. If someone has canceled and you arrive to ranger kiosk after they close, the available site numbers were posted on the window. This was very helpful for walk-in tent sites. Your experience will depend a lot on your neighbors and how noisy they are!

This is absolutely the perfect time to go. The first day was extremely windy, unfortunately, which made seeing and setting up the tent very difficult, but the other days we were there were perfect.

This campground is in the middle of the well-trafficked area of the park, so you are close to the must-see attractions ...and all the tourists. Our neighbors were inconsiderate (very smoky fire, noisy, and left a bright lantern on all night). If you don't mind other people, this is a convenient camp.

Great campsites and nice facilities. Not allowing campers to buy shower passes at the Ranch as formerly was an issue. Please inform campers in a prominent place so they will know to bring a solar shower. That you!

Nice campground, clean restrooms. Would definitely stay here again. First walk-in loop has very nice sites with shade. On the downside, the loop has a parking lot directly in front of tent areas. People were rather thoughtless at night, leaving their car lights shining onto the tents while they moved things in and out of their vehicles.
