Great central location place for everything. Camp was clean, quiet and spread out.We had walk up site and we loved it, we tent camp so the option with no rv with generators around us was a huge plus. Loved it

My daughter and I had a great experience at furnace creek campground. The staff were extremely helpful and the facilities were excellent. Stargazing at the borax mine was as highlight of our trip and also the sunsets at Zabriskis Point. Death Valley is an amazing national park!

Stayed for 2 nights in site 121. This specific site was fairly quiet with a great view of mountains and had a tree for shade. Its not too close to the bathrooms or trash, making it relatively quiet (depending on who your neighbors are). The campground was conveniently located close to several amazing sights.

The camp host of the day acted as a cop in a harassing, intimidating, passive-aggressive, and interrogating way. She wasn't welcoming at all from the very beginning. I felt singled out and left the site early instead of getting another site as she suggested because her way of doing so was horrible. I don't think I'll return Death Valley NP with this negative experience.

We stayed 6 nights at the Furnace Creek Campground between Christmas and the New year in the tents only section. To be able to camp in the center of the park is great especially when you consider the vastness of the park. Bathrooms with flush toilets were clean. Some campsites were extremely close to others whereas with some careful positioning of the tent and the table , others gave a good privacy. In the RV section, no privacy at all. Because the campground is quite big (136 campsites mostly RVs) and because campsites can be very close to another, real quiet can seem a luxury. Supplies in the general store are limited and expensive. Don't expect to find any camping equipment replacement if something breaks. The first day we had to drive to Parhump (120 miles round trip) because we could not repair my sleeping pad. Parhump has a Big 5 Sporting Goods (great and very kind customer service) and a Walmart.

For those in search of the perfect quiet outdoor experience, the Furnace Creek Campground may seem a bit too crowded but again if not for the campground most people would not be able to stay in the park. Prices at the Ranch or the Inn are stiff. So thank you to the parks and thank you to the people who take care of the roads and maintain the park.

P.S for those with a bit of time, check the Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, it is 45 minutes from Furnace Creek thru Death Valley Junction and really worth it.

Great location within the park. Close to the visitor's center. The tents only area was good so that we couldn’t really hear the RV generators. Lovely views.

Be flexible if you don't have reservations. Many campers are no-shows but don't actually cancel their reservations. If someone has canceled and you arrive to ranger kiosk after they close, the available site numbers were posted on the window. This was very helpful for walk-in tent sites. Your experience will depend a lot on your neighbors and how noisy they are!

This is absolutely the perfect time to go. The first day was extremely windy, unfortunately, which made seeing and setting up the tent very difficult, but the other days we were there were perfect.
