We have stayed at Furnace Creek many times and it has always been exceptionally well run, clean, and pleasant. This years visit was no exception. The campground hosts were especially attentive and helpful.

The park rangers are just there for the paycheck. We had campers next to us doing their laundry with a portable washing machine. They were dumping the water right into the creek bed that flowed through the campground. They were also dumping their RO wastewater in the same creek. We went and told the park rangers, and they did nothing. The neighbors did their laundry everyday polluting the ground without a care in the world.People run their RV motors and generator outside of the regulated time window and the very same rangers and site hosts do not care. So, if you like camping at a clean and respectable campground this place is not for you. If you like to trash the place and act like you are camping at a frat party, then this campground is perfect for your disrespectful intentions. As a side note, there was a storm that came through and knocked out the power (no fault of the NPS). It was out most of the day and the park was not charged for power consumption since there was no power, yet every camper was still charged the same electrical service fee for the day even though it was not impossible to assess electricity. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CAMPGROUND

I liked it, the only thing is that the privacy might be an issue here, the lots are located very close to each other, other than that I really liked the place!

Furnace Creek is a very clean, well maintained campground centrally located to nearby attractions. There is a visitor center with free wifi access. The visitor center has lots of interesting information about Death Valley. As with most parks, dogs are not allowed on trails which makes it a challenge for those of us who travel with our pets and like to get out and explore. We were here in December so the weather was in the 60's during the day and low 40's at night which was comfortable. We had a full hookup site. We had good Verizon cell and wifi access and AT&T wifi the first night. Access was spotty the next day and non-existent the next two days. The ranger said others reported the same thing but he didn't know what the cause was. I would stay here again.

We went in early November 2023, soon after park was opened after Hurricane Hillary flooding in August. Many roads still closed but roads south to lowest point and Dantes overview were open. Those plus visitor center are main must sees in park. Weather was slightly warm and windy. Make sure you have fuel before entering as sole station is very expensive.

The campground was well kept and other campers were quiet. My only complaint was that there was no light in the womens restroom , which made navigating it a bit challenging in the middle of the night. We visited the saloon at Furnace Creek Ranch and it was so much fun! The General Store at the Ranch also has some very good coffee and a great selection of clothing and souvenirs.

Generators were very disturbing to this lovely and special location. Could the hours be more limited, particularly in the winter?

Great campground and campsite. Beautiful Death Valley. Only bummer was both days we were out exploring in our small motorhome, campers without hookups felt they had a right to drive into our camp and use our water and sewer connections. And yes, they left a mess both times. Since there are only a handful of full hookup sites, you might want to carry a rope or lightweight plastic chain to block your driveway while you are gone. I saw a park ranger (police) only one time in four days and that was on the highway and I know they are spread thin. Would go back again for sure.

This is an excellent campground. We stayed four nights in January when the temperature was in the high 60s to low 70s. The sites are large and far enough apart to provide above average campground separation between guests.

The Harmony Borax Works is an easy hike out and back. Badwater and the Devil's Golf Course are a short drive south and are not to be missed.

Come to Death Valley with as full a tank of gas as manageable. There is only one station nearby and the price is the highest we've ever seen in CA.

Great location, friendly staff and really clean. We werent able to secure the same spot for the duration of our stay, so we moved sites everyday. Most people get up and leave early to explore so the rangers allowed us to check into our next spot early and get moving on our day without having to comeback and move our van. We will definitely be back!
