The location of this campground is the best if you want access to nearby food and major DV points of interest. Our dry site was very nice on the outskirts of the campground. The only recommendation for improvement would be to not let recreation.gov allow to book a very short site for a truck and 20 foot trailer. We were told by the Ranger that we would have to park our truck next to a bathroom since parking on the gravel next to the cement pad is not allowed. It was difficult to find an empty spot during a very busy time.

Clean bathrooms and wash stations for dishes. No privacy between campsites, just cement pads for parking side by side. Quiet hours were respected while we were there. Disappointed to see campground full of invasive salt cedar (tamarisk) shrubs. Friendly camp volunteers and rangers.

Campsite was clean and easily accessible, and as were the bathrooms/dishwashing. No easy shower access (in case that matters), and the "good" drinking water was a little bit of a walk to the visitor center (otherwise it was the same as the dishwashing water, and this was only sometimes cold). Sites are very close to each other, but this was fine for our purposes.

Furnace Creek is a great campground with a dump station, clean flush toilets, and close to most must see attractions in Death Valley. The Visitors Center is a 2 minute walk and the actual resort is 5 minutes. Gas is really expensive and there is only two places to get it. Second time we have been there and we will be back next year. Great temps while we were there. Plan 6 months ahead as the winter time is very busy. Go during the week.

We have been camping in Death Valley for over 20 years. Management has made some changes that I DO NOT agree with. Parking does not come with your site. The site we rented fit our trailer but not truck and trailer. We had to find alternate parking at one point the park ranger told us we could park at the overflow parking and walk the over half mile back to camp. There were NO water or electric lines anywhere near our site. We were told we would be cited if our wheels touched the dirt. I went to the visitor center to ask about Titus Canyon. I was told that unless I had a photo ID and park pass the ranger would NOT answer my question. I couldn't even buy a postcard without a photo ID and park pass. I was walking my dog when another camper asked me if I had lost a cat carrier. I told him it wasn't me. At that point a volunteer came up and said that because of winds nothing in the sites could be loose. He then proceeded to tell the guy who asked me the question, "I better inspect your site." He then proceeded to inspect the campers site to make sure he was in compliance. Nothing friendly about the staff at Furnace Creek. More like a Gestapo Run concentration camp. Here is my question, if a young person that doesn't have a photo ID, like a 12 year old, goes to the visitor are they NOT allowed to ask a question? What if they want to buy a bottle of water or snack. Can they NOT purchase them because a lack of photo ID and park pass?

Great campground. Sites are close to each other but we had good neighbors. Great location, close to everything we wanted to see. Feb. is a good time to go for the weather but there are plenty of people around. Can be windy so pay attention to the weather.

I could only reserve three different sites for three different days, so when we arrived we drove to Texas Springs found a site there and tried to cancel FC but was too late. TS was perfect for us though.
Great campsite. Clean facilities, and the dishwashing area was a nice bonus. Love how central the location is. Pretty close access to a lot of points of interest. People were respectful and quiet at night. Really, no complaints!

Rude campground ranger. Stayed the night of 1/3/22, arriving about 2:30. I reserved a 20 foot "trailer" site online but when I arrived, it really was a tent site. That was not a problem. It was a good site, with no one behind or next to me on one side. I set up my trailer with the wheels a few feet off the pavement so that I could fit my car on the pavement too at my site. The campground has a rule that all wheels should be on the pavement. I figured it wouldn't be a big deal since my trailer is 18.2 feet and light. The packed gravel (throughout the campsite) that my wheels were sitting on is not a sensitive environmental area. About 3:30 I went to my sunset photo shoot and arrived back at the campground at 5:30 or so. It was dark by then. I have two dogs so feed them, took them for a walk and settled in for the night. As I was cooking dinner around 7:30 pm, I heard someone talking right outside the trailer, but I figured it was nothing because the campsite was full. Then a curt rap on my trailer door and a woman's voice saying "hello?" I was startled as were my dogs. So I said a couple minutes and I'll be right out. The campground ranger proceeded to chastise me for having my wheels off the pavement. When I explained the situation, she wasn't moved. She said I needed to move my trailer onto the pavement (only a few feet). I asked her was she really going to make me move my trailer right now? Can't she make an expection for tonight? I'm only staying one night. She said no, because if she gave me an exception, then others would do the same thing. But it was pitch dark and no one could see my trailer wheels off pavement. When I asked what is the damage in having my wheels off the pavement (I meant environmentally), she said I was escalating and she could give me a $5,000 ticket instead. Rude and inflexible. So I moved my trailer, disturbing my nearby camper neighbors. The next morning, she also frantically waved at me to slow down when I was going the speed limit!
Overall it was very good camping at Furnace Creek. Our only quibble was the bathrooms - the toilet paper was so thin it wouldn't dispense properly, the lights were out in the men's room and required holding a flashlight to prevent misfiring onto your shoes, and the smell was pretty awful. One night we camped at Wildrose. It was beautiful! Highly recommend it.
There were no lights in the men's bathroom at the south end of the campground. Bathrooms and campground was clean.

The power was out park-wide during most of our stay (strong wind storm) but we barely noticed. Just needed headlamps in the bathrooms at night! Campground is close to the visitor center, very convenient.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
