Great amenities, except it can get crowded and there's not many trash cans.

It lived up to my expectations of location and more privacy than most of the other campgrounds.

Stayed at a walk-in tent site for 5 nights in mid-January. Sites are flat and spacious, potable water available, I even had some cell reception with Google Fi (usually just text-only SMS). Would stay again, but maybe not as long, as sites are cheaper at all other first-come first-served sites in the park (Texas Springs offers similar amenities, though isn't as close to the store and visitor center). My site #146 was close to the bathrooms and sinks, which I found convenient, but my neighbors weren't thrilled about the foot traffic and sink noise. Location is good for visiting Badwater Basin, Artists Drive, Dante's View, Salt Creek, Golden Canyon. PLEASE NOTE: Firewood is not currently available within the park, so bring in your own (you may be able to purchase $11 bundles at Panamint Springs). Gas, pool/shower passes, and food/supplies are also much more expensive at Furnace Creek than at Stovepipe Wells ($6.70/gal vs $5.15/gal unleaded, $14 vs $5 for pool/shower pass).
Great campsites! Fairly protected for the area and nice sinks for cleaning dishes. The bathroom didn't have soap but other than that it was perfect. Beautiful views
Death Valley is incredible, and camping at Furnace Creek is a totally fine way to visit it. While the campsites can be small and sometimes require users to walk through other's sites, it's hard to find fault with a picnic table, fire pit, and clean bathroom in the middle of the desert. It was hot during the day, but cooled to a comfortable temperature overnight. It did get windy sometimes, so it might help just to be mentally prepared for that.
On our visit we covered the typical attractions like Zabriskie Point, Artists Drive, and the Badwater Basin. But we also recommend the dunes at Mesquite Flat as well as just walking the various horse trails and paths extending into the hills, badlands, and gaps between cliffs. We did most of this before 10am and after 5pm to take advantage of the milder temperatures and better lighting. Also, even though the park is super popular, it doesn't take much walking before you can be entirely alone with the silence and indescribable scenery. Enjoy!

The campground was in an area with trees and they helped make it feel more woody.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
