Rangers were very helpful. Checking in was easy. Ranger at the visitor station was fantastic when he swore my 2 great grandchildren in as Junior Rangers

The bathroom nearest our campsite was inexplicably closed requiring a very long walk.

Furnace Creek's campground is a behemoth and after one night (pleasant enough) moved across the street to Texas Springs for the next 3 nights we spent in the park

We stayed at site #22 for 4 night. Although you can run your generator from 7:00AM to 7:PM, you have to babysit it ( cannot leave gen running unattended). Which means you cannot leave to go sightseeing or hiking etc. We were able to get to one of the Full hook up and it was fine. They only have 18 full hook up. It is great for one night unless you are lucky to get a full hook up

SUCH a beautiful campground! Well-maintained facilities. They had REAL toilets with lights and sinks. This lovely campground even had wash areas with drinkable water. Most sites seems very flat and had a little bush or tree. We were there in winter so we didn't need shade, but anyyyy other time I would bring a shade structure. We stayed in site 22 as it was the only one open. Campground is SO close to the visitor center as well!

This was my first time at Death Valley National Park, thus also my first time at Furnace Creek Campground. I arrived at the beginning of November. I bought my camping spot close to my camping date, so not a lot of options were open, but I managed to get 1 spot for 1 night (Friday), and another spot for the other night (Saturday). The campground was nice (but very full) and the weather was great (70-90 deg F). My spot came with a paved place to park my car, a fire pit and a picnic table. The camp surprisingly had service! 3G with Version, and I was able to send text messages which was good for telling loved ones I was safe and sound. The campsite had a clean bathroom with flush toilets, sinks with push faucets and large mirrors. It did not smell. Overall I had a good time.

Nice clean campground, my only "complaint" is there are not very many trash receptacles.

The weather in early February was perfect, highs of about 80 degrees and no wind. The campground was very nice and well maintained. We saw the campground hosts and volunteers walking through the campground at least once a day. There is not much shade at most of the campsites here. There is very limited parking for extra vehicles and information on where to park was very unclear. We parked an extra vehicle on the gravel next to a bathroom for 2 days along with about three other vehicles with no problems, then on the third day a ranger comes along and tells us we can't park there, we can only park on paves surfaces. A few signs to tell guests where they can and can't park would be helpful.

nice campground. lots of empty, reserved spaces that appear to be going to waste. the campground's website shows the campground is full, but in reality, it was almost half empty the days we were there.

Furnace Creek's new facilities are certainly going to be nice and it's great that there will be additional housing for future visitors so more people can enjoy the beauty of Death Valley. I, for one, welcome the additions though I am a camper and will probably not use the new housing. However, the reason for 4 stars rather than 5 stars is you are ignoring the needs of your large population of campers that use the restrurants and shops as well. Twice a year, at least, I pass through Death Valley and stop for 1 to 3 days. I've been making this trip for 20 years and certainly plan to continue. During the construction you've have consistently blocked off the paths from the camp ground to the shopping area. Most campers don't drive from the camp ground to the shopping area. That's good for you as it provides less parking congestion for those that are driving, I use the restaurants and shops everyday I'm there. The Campers still eat, need facilities and supplies while you prepare for your new visitors. I am certain, from my own experience and conversations at my campsite, your shops and restaurants are seeing a decrease in business from the Campers due to the obstacle course between the Campgrounds and the shopping area.Other than that, from the ranger at the campground check in to the people working in the shopping area everyone was welcoming and friendly. The part God made is as magnificent as ever.

Great location to tour Death Valley. Having potable water and restrooms close by were great. Star gazing at our site was good, but Harmony Borax was much better.

The reservation system continues to be broken. Although the campground was considered full for my entire stay (one week in February) many sites were empty night after night. Should a site become available, it still cannot be bought on site. One has to buy through the reservations system. Furnace Creek is in a cell pone and wifi dead zone.
