I rate Site 38 as one of the best in this campground, for the following reasons: 1. It's 65 feet long (on the centerline), so there's enough room for the largest RV's, or for two families to share the site. I've had a 30 foot Class C, a Rav4, and a 10' x 14' tent all on the parking pad, with 5 feet to spare. 2. If you are tent camping, and don't have an RV with all the amenities, this site is only 80 feet from the nearest restroom, and 50 feet from the nearest dishwashing sink. 3. It's 850 feet walking distance to the patio at the visitor center. only a little longer to walk than the closest sites, 86 and 87, which are 500 feet. 4. The site is as flat and level as you will find anywhere, certainly more level than any of the sites in Sunset campground across the road, so it works great for either tent or RV camping. There are some Tamarisk trees along the back of the site that you could sit under for shade in the late afternoon on a warm day.

Weather was almost perfect. Campground staff were friendly and efficient. Took my grandsons to the bottom of Ubehebe Crater and we finally made it to the big sand dune at Stovepipe Wells. Also did the usual, Devils Golf Course, Badwater, and the natural bridge. From other visits I'd recommend Salt Creek and Scotty's Castle when it re-opens. If you have time, a side trip to Ash Meadows NWR to see the Devils Hole and natural springs (check at the vistor's center to see where the desert pupfish are visible).

Area is stunning and the colors change constantly. Hiking trails are amazing. If you are a golfer, the golf course is a must.

Reservations were easy to make on Recreation.gov. The campground is very clean and our site (038) was plenty long enough for our trailer and vehicle. There were no hookups at this site, but across the road water and a dump station were available. Cell service in the area is an issue as the only carrier in Death Valley is CommNet. We use T-Mobile for our carrier, and apparently they do not have an agreement with CommNet to provide service, as we had no internet service. However, there is Wi-Fi available at the Visitor Center, which is next to the campground. Wi-Fi service is also available at the Oasis adjacent to the campground.

March was a great time to visit. We did have a few days of rain and cold temperatures but when the sun came out it was still cool enough to go for multiple hikes in a day. We highly recommend Natural Arch, Golden Canyon including Red Cathedral, Mosaic Canyon and Dantes View. All stunning.

This is an excellent site for anyone bringing a large RV, or someone car camping with a tent. You can set up your tent on the back end of the paved parking pad, which helps prevent damage to the tent floor, and still have plenty of room on the pad for your vehicle. Tents up to 10 x 14 feet fit perfectly. There are no trees on the south side of the pad, so it's perfect for setting up a solar panel on the ground. The restroom is 70 feet away, right behind the site, and the dishwashing station is only 45 feet away to the north. The Visitor Center is an easy stroll, about 750 feet from the campsite. On two separate trips, we had a 10x14 tent, a 28 foot class "C" motorhome, and a Prius, all parked on the pad. Highly recommended.

Excellent campground and campsite.Restrooms located at convenient locations. Garbage location at one end of the campground is a walk but prevents odors at campsites.Beautiful desert scenery all around.Central location to scenic drives and hikes.

It rained with snow on the surrounding peaks made for a once in a lifetime experience. We plan on returning and spending more time in the park.

The Park is wonderful. We came for the dark skies and were not disappointed. One thing -- the lights at the visitor center could maybe have shades on the sides, or maybe just a different design, so that the light does not shine anywhere but down. It would improve the darkness and thus improve the dark sky experience. We love Death Valley National Park and will come back in the future.

Nice campground. The dump station was out of order so everyone had to use one station by the overflow lot.

Furnace Creek Camp Ground is a great camp ground, however they are currently doing practically nothing as far as maintenance it seems. We were at 2 different sites during our stay and both tables were absolutely filthy. I mean really gross. We had to spend a good 10-15 minutes cleaning both of them before setting out anything. Perhaps it's because of Covid? Other than that it was a great time.

Great sites, long and flat. One thing on site 39, all the hookups are at the back on the right side. If you have a trailer with the waste hookup in front of the axles (like mine), you will need 30' of waste tube to reach drain. Note that the rest of the campsites had no hookups so lots of generators running during the day and evening. Still a great campground!! You can walk to the visitor center easily from campsite as well.
