Other than the excessive winds the campground was well laid out. The restrooms were clean and comfortable. The water troughs were an excellent touch. We enjoyed it immensely. Great place for the main base camp.

This was a corner site close to the restroom and water station. The ground was very hard and difficult to pound in a tent stake. There was also no shade. This site would be better for a small motor home. The facilities were very clean and well maintained.

We were there in November. The campground is fine. There is enough space on the pitch. There is a camping table and a firepit. The toilets and washing facilities are clean and functional. It's also good that you can make a reservation.Too bad there are no showers and no wifi, although there is wifi in the visitor center. So just go to the visitor center in the evening and sit in front of it and log in for free to send emails etc.!

This is a nice campground, with great water stations, and an easy walk to the visitor center. Wonderful star gazing at night.

The campground was clean, quiet and close to the visitor center. We had a great relaxing time. We had never been to the park before and what a great time of the year to see it.

Very nice campground with clean restrooms and numerous wash stations for cleaning dishes. Only downside was placement of dumpsters: at the campground entrance/exit instead of being closer to each loop of campsites. Ranger staff friendly and helpful.

I thought this was a very nice spot to stay as our base camp for exploring DVNP. The campground was super clean and well laid out. Our site was nice and level. My water pump broke the day we left for this trip so it was very convenient to have a dishwashing station at this campsite. I would definitely stay here again. Highlights of the trip included seeing the sunrise at Zabriskie Point, Dante's View, Badwater Basin, Artists Palette scenic road, and Ubehebe Crater.

Site 86 is the ugliest campsite I've ever seen or been to. It's not that clear that certain sites are inappropriate for tents.I do recommend Golden Canyon hike, Sidewinder Canyon (for the cool slots), of course Badwater Basin (especially while it has water in it!), Dante's View for a spectacular view of the basin, Mosaic Canyon, Artists Palette...

Campground was well-run. Paved sites had good elbow room (although there was no privacy; were in the desert after all). Facilities were cleaned daily. Will definitely recommend to others.

Great time at Death Valley. This is a nice camping spot to rest in after you see, experience, and hike in the park. You do have to drive to all the locations so we opted to set up our ground tent instead of using our rooftop tent. We went with our 7-year old twins and loved it. The visitor center is within walking distance so we checked it out, did the Jr. Ranger program, and picked up a few sandwiches while setting up camp. We also really enjoyed how close The Ranch at Death Valley is. We went over for some Ice Cream and picked up a few things at the General Store. Washing stations and restrooms were clean.

My friend Debbie and I completely enjoyed our stay in Furnace Creek and if there was availability would have stayed longer. The hiking! The exploration! The stars!! We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Thanks to the camp host and the friendly staff at the store and visitors center who answered all of our questions and helped my friend with ideas on where she might find her lost cell phone.More information about the availability of showers would great!

We stayed at Furnace Creek in mid February in a standard non-electric site. We were close to the visitor center, restrooms, and water so it was very convenient to top up our fresh water tank. Sites are nicely spaced in contrast to the RV park nearby. It was too early and too dry for wildflowers but the scenery of Death Valley never fails to captivate. The highlight of our visit was star gazing from our site. Planning on coming back during a new moon, staying longer and renting a jeep for seeing parts of the park you can only reach by unpaved roads.
