Tidy campground, comfortable and clean facilities. Handy for sights like Zabriskie Point and Dante's view. Unfortunately the Badwater Basin road was closed during our stay.

We loved our time at Furnace Creek - truly a beautiful campground! Making reservations early is a must but choose your site carefully and pay attention to its size. All wheels - trailer and tow vehicle, must be able to fit on your site's pavement. Additional vehicles that do not fit on the campsite's pavement must be parked in overflow areas.

Choose your site carefully if you care about noise and light! I was tent camping in #63 and the noise from generators on the backside of the site was so grating. You will also likely be surrounded by campers/vans that have lots of external (bright!!) lights. If you value darkness and quiet, would not recommend that part of the campground. Id actually recommend Texas Springs (1.5 miles down the road) Campground which has a no generator, tent only section. Maybe if the ranger at check in reminded campers of light pollution and there was signage in the bathroom (like at Pinnacles NP) people would be more contentious! Some people may just be completely unaware/inexperienced camping.

We camped during Thanksgiving and had a great time. The night skies are awesome, and the camp sites are well maintained, bathrooms clean and overall a wonderful time. Firewood was available at the store, and so was basic supplies.

The drive-up spaces in the tents only area are too close together. With no vegetation the privacy is nil. The walk-in sites are better in this regard (but not great).

Nicer of the two campgrounds. The bathrooms were very clean. Enough space between sites with many small trees and bushes so you didnt feel on top of each other. Walking distance to the park visitor center. The campground was in good condition snd I would stay here again. Very central to all major sites to visit.

Very quiet and good situated campground but we would have appreciated a little bit of shadow by such a heat (100 F)!

It seemed crowded to me - campsites are close together. Also a huge number of campfires. I wish there were a part of the campground where fires are prohibited. It's not healthy breathing all that smoke and clothes & sleeping bags stinks after exposure. Everything was in good order and bathrooms were clean. Very nice ranger at the entry station. Next time I'd try one of the other campgrounds or more likely I'll find a dispersed camping spot on a dirt road. Death Valley is great in the winter!

Beautiful Campground Located near many points of interest in The park. Store with basic necessities is near by as well as a gas station. Visitor center is within walking distance. There is Potable water and a Dump Station available. A few full hook-up sites and plenty of dry camping ones also. There is a area that is only for tents. Cell service all over the park is pretty much non existent, so make sure you download a Off-line map and pick up a park paper map when you purchase your entrance ticket. Each site comes with a metal picnic table and fire pit. Make sure you bring your own firewood as non is available for purchase(at least when i was there) This has easily became one of our favorite parks and cant wait to go back and explore some more. There is still a few toads closed due to the flooding that happened over the summer.

This campground was pretty good - sites varied a great deal in terms of size and privacy. Because its in the desert, there isn't much privacy at all so its more like a large parking lot. A good jumping off point for exploring Death Valley in terms of location.

Beautiful campground in an amazing park. The park staff are very helpful. The recommended hikes and must sees in the park paper is worth the trip. Campground tip: Be sure you check your site length. We did not have room for 20 foot trailer and truck. Had to park our truck in overflow in front of bathroom.

Make sure if you are in a trailer you include the length of the tow vehicle plus the trailer. We needed up with a site that could not accommodate both. Some sites are better suited for tents Great location with easy access to each area of the park. The Ranch is walking distance that offers takeout food and a nice general store .
