My experiences at furnace creek campground are generally stellar. It's a lovely campground with great staff. However, camp hosts can get a little over zealous over charging an ebike at an empty site. I don't think this should be a big deal. If I could reserve a site with full hookups I would but they never seem to be available. Just turn a blind eye unless it becomes ridiculously pervasive anyway

Nice vis it. Ranger very helpful when we had a confusing situation. FYI 2 vehicles per site should state cant be two vans that people sleep in. I read all fine print saw the maximum length allowed, we were under. Not sure why if you had a rv or trailer and a car and someone could sleep in a Subaru or ?? but not allowed two vans. We tried to get another site online but the system would keep changing when we thought we had two saved so we went with one. The campground is not one with much private space, but the views are amazing and the stars. So dark sky means no twinkly light strings or solar lights around your site. DARK is paramount. That is what should be more of a priority to enforce. Very kind friendly employees here should be noted too.

Both water filling stations were out of order, can't be a coincidence that they both broke at the same time. Too many people hijacking sites and getting away with it because there is no enforcement of rules in the campground. The Oasis portion at Furnace Creek gets worse every year, less available hours to eat, the ice cream shop is woefully understaffed, at least the workers are friendly and work hard. The Wildrose Tavern was awful, slow to get meals and then they were cold. I asked our waitstaff what really was happening that night and he stated they only had 1 oven could only cook 1 meal at a time. The saloon has discontinued lunch and the buffet was awful. Protesters protesting against part time staff being laid off holding the American flag upside down (in a National Park of all places). What used to be a beautiful place is getting very sad.

The ranger at the campground and volunteer at the visitor center were very helpful . We went to the evening program and the presenter was excellent.

We stayed two nights from Dec 23-25, 2023 at campsite #26 and were happy with our experience. The campground is in a relative central location, not far from all the places that we planned to visit within the park. Our campsite is close to the restroom which has water, flush toilet and no lighting. Drinking water is also availabe nearby. We almost missed the campground the first night though since it was really dark in the park without cell reception so no Google map. Highly recommend to download the map before making the trip.

I am a first-time camper - so this review is purely based on what I expected to see and what my experience was. The ground was clean and prepped in advance. Upon arrival, we received a paper to display at our campsite to indicate it has been reserved. The bathrooms were super clean and plenty of hand sanitizer and toilet paper supplies. There is no shower at the campsite, but there is nearby hotels/resort where you can shower for a small fee. Stores near the locations are a bit far out and expensive. So pack plenty and pack accordingly. This campground is conveniently located for many nearby visits. Especially if you are interested in Stargazing Harmony Borax Works is less than 5 miles away which is an excellent location. There are a number of other sites to see in the nearby location. Don't forget you can get the passport stamp only here at this visitor center - which is a bonus point.

I totally enjoyed this camping. My camp site#26 was awesome with shades , though I went there on 30th Jan to 1 Feb 2022, weather was good, restroom was very close & very clean, even all restroom all over the park on every vista point was very clean.Gas next to this campground is around $1.50 per gallon more compare to gas station around 24 miles away at stopville so plan accordingly. There is no internet, but mobile was showing network tower.
