Camp ground was quiet and orderly. The stopped blowing. Unbelievable lack of blooms. The flooding and the increasing global temperatures maybe whats

Dont wait until you are 70 to see Death Valley, like I did. Furnace Creek is a fine campground for your stay.

Plot 17 is too close to 16. Lots of kids and dogs. Feels more like an RV park these days. No showers still in campground and they charge $14 for a single shower at the Ranch.

The campground has a nice location for seeing the park but we probably should have just boondocked since there are no hookups here or even a shower. There is water and a sink behind the bathrooms. Also we were in site 17 and while the park was only 30% occupied (a guess-even though full campground was always posted) there was always someone placed in the site next to us, which was a diagonal site, almost at our trailer door, leaving us little privacy.

We had a great visit, but the campground was very busy with little privacy. Good for central location, but missing the majestic vibe of other NPS campgrounds.

Large campground but pretty quiet. Sites are pretty leveled & paved. Restrooms could use some work. Some of the lights are not working. Close to fuel (expensive), visitors center. Nice staging area to explore the park.

Great one-night stay. Campground was completely booked for the weekend. Restrooms were very clean. Neighbors were quiet and friendly no really loud partying going on.

Great campground. Clean restrooms, patrolled regularly by park rangers, and was never too loud at night. The night sky views from here are something else. Definitely would recommend.

Best located camping spot I came across. Spacing is a little tight, but overall, would strongly recommend

Very, very close to sites #16 & #18. The spacing is set up more like a group site and we were in the middle of a group of campers we werent apart of. Was able to move to another site after the first night. Sites 80-87 have more space between sites.

Furnace Creek is an ideal base camp for the main attractions of the massive Death Valley National Park. Strategically located between Stovepipe Wells (itself adjacent to Mesquite Sand Dunes and close to the turn off to the Wild Rose Charcoal Kilns), Zabriskie Point and Golden Canyon, Artist Palette, Badwater Basin and Dante's View. The campground itself is pancake flat and located adjacent to the Visitor Center and a just a couple of minutes from the premier resort, the Oasis. Individual campsites vary greatly in terms of their size. Some have 20-30 feet of room behind the paved two vehicle parking space, while others have small trees that offer shade. Avoid sites #16 and #17 at all costs up to including paying for a room at the Oasis (though never necessary--the overflow campsites across the road are almost always available)--these are really a single campsite 5 feet from a very busy restroom. Potable water is available in several locations around the campground. Late fall or winter is the best time to take advantage of this campground. Be sure to watch the weather, however, as nights get very cold (just at or above freezing) in the winter and while the sun isn't too powerful most days, a sunshade is helpful if you're planning to eat lunch at the campsite. Firewood was unavailable during a recent winter visit, so come prepared for that eventuality. In terms of ingress/egress to and from the campsite, consider the CA 190 for some of the most scenic views, including Father Crowly's View (aka "Star Wars Canyon"), though if you are traveling in an RV, it also has a couple of 9% grades so watch your brakes. Southern approaches are faster if you are coming from the south (San Diego/OC) but are very remote. Kelbaker Road/127 is actually 'main street' of the Mojave Desert to the south (consider staying at Hole-In-The-Wall for a fun two stop trip), while the approach through Trona is all but completely devoid of humanity. Watch out for the burros!

First time to Death Valley national Park. Thought it was fantastic, loved the landscapes. The campground was convenient & comfortable. We were in # 17 for two nights & I did think the way it was laid out it put you to close to the neighbor to the left. The had a crying baby in the middle of the night but we survived. Saw the sites that we could see with a 25 foot RV & I do plan to return to see more but with my truck next time.

It was a awesome campground, wish there is shower facility near by. Very convenient to all the major scenery point.

Furnace Creek campground is close to two hotels/resorts, and is not far from many attractions such as Badwater Basin, Artist Drive, and Zambriske Point.

Clean bathrooms and fire pits made it an enjoyable place to stay. Some sites are much smaller than others and have more or less tree cover. Site 17 was on the small side without tree cover.

Governor Newsome has earned his recall vote via the Furnace Creek reservation fiasco. Had reservation for 5 months and it was cancelled by stay at home order which was cancelled three days after the reservation was cancelled. So he couldn't have coordinated this with the NPS? Incompetence was not unexpected but disappointing nonetheless. Please factor this into your next vote involving a socialist.

Great campground with incredibly friendly and helpful staff in one of the most beautiful venues in the world. I only wish there were more sites with hookups, but the lack of hookups was only a minor inconvenience.

It's a lovely location, immaculately clean and very convenient to everything that Death Valley offers. I had a problem with how close together the campsites were, don't end up in #17. Also, I wish tents weren't placed immediately next to an RV that needs to occasionally run the generator. I felt terrible with the noise and a small tent just outside our RV. It seems like poor planning to me.

I stayed in the campground, which was nice. However, with all of the recent renovations at The Ranch, dining choices are not like they were. Unless you want a buffet, the 2 restaurants are both pretty expensive. Dinner for 2 with 1 drink was almost $100. I was glad I brought food to cook the other 2 nights. As far as hiking, Golden Canyon and Mosaic Canyon are great.
