Nice campground, beautiful place, and I greatly appreciate the helpful, dedicated NPS employees who make it all possible, including those at the campground entrance and visitor center!

Nice and quiet. Friendly people. One or two people who turned on their generators though. Clean bathrooms and sinks.

This campground was almost fully booked for the dates I wanted, but there were a couple spots available. I arrived after dark (about 5:30pm in December) and it was very challenging pulling into my back in spot... I'm not very good at it, and I have a small (16') camper, and there are no lights at the campground, which i understand, but it was tough. I put my headlamp on the post with the site number, and used that to back in. The asphalt pad was also small, and I had to unhook and park my truck next to it on the packed gravel. An hour or so later, when I was walking my dog, the campground host came by and said I couldn't park there... that all vehicles had to be on pavement, something about "environmentalists", and he told me I needed to park at the restroom about 200 yards away, or at the visitor center. The next day, I drove up to Texas Spring campground, which is all first come/first served, and about half the price of Furnace Creek, and it was about 20% full, so I decided to move up there. I was very happy with that site. It was much quieter, darker, easier to get in and out of, much more scenic, and had way more restrooms per camper than furnace creek. Next time I'll know.

There is water and black tank facilities across from the Visitors Center. Fill up your tank before you enter the Park. Always keep your tank topped off if you are setting out on an adventure. We were easily distracted to just keep going. Turned around just in time. There is a small store at the hotel next to the Visitor Center. Very impressed with pathways to the various points of interest. Cell service is very iffy. Visit the Visitors Center for a map and newsprint. We used this a lot because we had no cell reception. Love Furnace Creek.

Always a good time at Furnace Creek. In November the valley is beautiful. The rangers are always very helpful.

We had a great time. We did 5 nights total. This allowed us to see most everything on the newspaper given out at the visitor center. We actually saw the jets fly by on our first visit to Father Crowley Vista Point. It definitely wont be our last visit.

Washrooms were very clean 4 of my 5 visits.I tented in the drive up sites. Very very difficult to put stalked into the ground to hold tent up in the wind. Staff I met were all friendly.

Our experience was very good, liked the emailed "upcoming stay" alert. My only criticism is that there were empty campsites each night, though the sign at kiosk said campground full. Isn't there any way to accommodate people on arrival with those empty sites? Or to reserve online on day of arrival? More income for the government, more convenience for travelers, with a little more vigilance and planning. Thank you

This a very adequate, clean, quiet, no-frills govt campground that is well organized with good signs and roads. Our campsite had room for parking two vehicles, a cargo van and a compact SUV. There was plenty of room for the tent. We arrived in the dark but did not have any unusual difficulty finding the camp site or setting up camp in the dark. The Senior discount with a National Park Lifetime Pass was 50%, making it very affordable, especially for two vehicles. Gas at Furnace Creek was almost $9/gallon. The nearby hotel breakfast buffet (all you can eat) was ok, but not great.Exiting the park to the south, Jubilee Pass had no spring wildflowers this year. When I came back through the park going north three days later, both south and north passes on the Saline Valley Road were open (no ice, snow or mud). I have AWD with AT (all terrain) tires on my camper van, and an extra spare tire. Driving 100 miles of severe washboard road in and out of Saline Valley to Eureka Valley and over to Crankshaft Crossing and then to Ubehebe Crater was horrible, but not a disaster. The scenery in that north area of the park is spectacular, but a good backcountry vehicle is highly advised.Since the road to Scotty's Castle is completely closed, I exited to the east further south on the (paved!) road to Beatty, Nevada, and enjoyed the scenery on that route, as well as along highway 95 north to Tonopah/Fernley.

Furnace Creek is what one would expect for a desert campground, with more utilities than some of the other locations. That said, it was very noisy. The rules do not allow generators to operate after 8:00pm but unfortunately, the rules do not address deisel furnaces, which are arguably every bit as loud as a generator. BTW, we were there 1st week of January and it was cold. We were tent camping, and comfortably sleeping at night, and while our site had no electricity and was intended for tents, we were surrounded by very noisy trailers. The only "tent only" sites that are seperated from the trailers are walk in only. Artist Pallete, a 5-mile drive is absolutely beautiful, and there are many excellent hikes within a few mile drive.

The Furnace Creek Campground sites and facilities were excellent. Clean and in good working condition. Big issue was the gas station at the resort. Unregulated, exorbitant gas prices ($6.80+ a gallon) but more challenging was the fact that this was the only source for propane tank refills in the entire park and for two days in a row there was not technician available to dispense the propane. Really not acceptable for a location with so many RV sites.

We are frustrated. We did not know the status of our reservation. We received a closure refund confirmation on 1/21 for $55. It stated the refund was on its way. We have never received our refund. On 2/8 we received an order receipt. We were told to ignore it and it was sent in error. We were told to check with our credit card company. We did. They never received the $55. We have called several times. Last week we were told that we would get notice by email. We have not yet heard and are still waiting for our refund. Please help.

Nice campground, clean, each site is large enough to stay away with your neighbors. No need to worry about privacy. The stars are amazing!

Site was easy to find and had ample space for our RV. Centrally located for visiting Death Valley.
