There is nothing special about the campground. It hase a few sites with electrick but not many. I would like to see more. If you are staying during a time that is not too busy Sunset campground is cheeper and is almost as nice. Sunset is first come first to camp, It was the begining of February and sunset had about 3/4 of its sites abalable, Furnice Creek was full. I wanted to stay an additional day so I drove over to sunset about 1 mile from Furnice Creek

Campground was nice but wasnt aware there was a No Generator rule. The temp got down to freezing at night. Planned to spend 2 nights but left after one for Tucson and saguaro

We really enjoyed our stay at Furnace Creek. The location is perfect for access to Death Valley NP popular sites. The campground was very clean and checking in was easy. We werent in the small section with hookups so our only suggestion would be to limit the hours of generator operation. Maybe a couple hours in the morning and a couple in the evening.

We enjoyed our three nights there. DVNP is a dark sky NP and we can see more stars. After Moon rose, the moon light is so bright that we didnt even need a flashlight walking around.

Furnace Creek was a great location to camp, whether you are in a tent, or RV. I stayed in a non electric site which was long enough for my truck and trailer. There are stores, gas stations, and restaurants close by. Many attractions are accessible by car.

Sadly the weather was quite cold and VERY windy. We hadn't been to Furnace Creek for several years and were surprised to see all of the upscale facilities. Don't get me wrong, it is nice but not the down-to-earth place it used to be.

Do yourself a favor if you can, this campsite is right at the beginning of the site, so yes that means tons of people, and yes that means you'll know when every car is leaving or coming in. That's one point just strictly about location of this campground. My review is entirely about the grounds. The grounds are well kept, and very SECURE. Every 30-45 minutes there was a ranger who would do a walk of the grounds which in this day and age made me feel very safe. Along with the ranger there was great facilities (bring your own toilet paper, unless you like a numb butthole). The watering station always had bountful water and the bathrooms were very clean and its such a nice central location to all the action around you.

Facilities were well kept, rest rooms clean and functional. Would have preferred more clarity in the reservation process as to which are the tent only sites so I could have been farther from all the RV's. Overall, good location, easy process.

Well maintained campground and NPS staff were nice. Unfortunately there was no breeze both nights we were there and many people had campfires which made it unpleasant to be outside at night due to the wood smoke.

We had a great stay at Furnace Creek Campground. It's an excellent central location for major Death Valley sights, very dark for great stargazing at night, and facilities were clean. All other campers we interacted with were friendly and considerate, and had nice interactions with staff as well!

The Furnace Creek Campground is fairly large and laid out with good space between campsites. It looks like the campground was recently refurbished, with new asphalt, fire rings, and well maintained bathrooms. The potable water station looked brand new too. The park is quite large, so watch your fuel level when driving to some of the more remote spots.

I’ve visited Death Valley several times but this was my first time staying at Furnace Creek. I did like its proximity to the Furnace Creek visitor center and sites like Zabriskie point and Golden Canyon. But if you’re looking for some privacy and space between campsites, this one isn’t it. I wouldn’t have liked it even before the pandemic. But if you just need a spot to crash for the night or car camp, this campground will suffice.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Our site had a decent amount of separation from others. Although there are sections where the sites are more lined up like a parking lot. Since there is no vegetation between those sites, I would avoid those. People were very respectful of quiet hours. There is not a shower facility in the park. The resort next door sells showers in their pool house. But there are only a couple of stalls, so the wait time may be long at busy times. And at $10 each, it is a bit pricy if you are not planning on using the pool which is included in the cost. Also, the fee does not include a towel. Be prepared and bring your own.
