Excellent place to stay

Great central location to visit the park. Spaces were a little close to each other, but our campground had a bit of shade (which was great shelter for the tent - provided shade but also some noise/moonlight protection). Bathroom was clean, and check in/out process was easy and smooth. Weekend got a little noisy but would still stay here again.

The Furnace Creek Campground is a great location in the park. Right next to the FC Visitors center and a short drive from some of the parks "must see" locations. The bathrooms were very clean and well stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. And camp hosts were very helpful. When we arrived at our reserved site we discovered some was already set up in our spot. The camp host met us and informed us that the previous camper had some sort of accident in the park and they were notified by park rangers that the individual had to be airlifted out and it was unclear when someone would be back to clean up their gear. They had an available campsite for use to move too, but it was 100% exposed compared to the site were had reserved with plenty shade trees. We ended up in site 11 and I would advise anyone planning to tent camp not to bother with this particular site (it's neighbors for that matter). We got hit by a terrible and unexpected wind storm that sent our well staked shade tent flying and gave us the worst night's sleep as our tent was tossed around on our last night.I think if we had been in our intended site we would have been more protected from the wind and had a 4 or 5 star experience.

Quiet and tidy camp ground make it a joy to stay. Restrooms are clean. Check in is a breeze.

The camp hosts & rangers were very nice and helpful. The sites are very close together but that's how it is now. However, my "neighbor" had a dog who would bark once or twice throughout the night, each time waking everyone up. Dogs should NOT be allowed in campgrounds. It's discourteous to others! But other than that, I enjoyed my stay! And everyone quieted it down by the 10 pm quiet time restrictions, which was awesome!

The sites are very close together. Someone on one side of us was listening to cartoons or a podcast all night, and someone was burning plastic on our other site. The outdoor sink sounded like a fire extinguisher when it was used every few minutes. We are experienced campers, but it was impossible to sleep.

Great campsite! Running water, flush toilets, walk-in loop for tent campers. A bit close with the neighbours, but give it a cozy atmosphere. Would gladly camp here again

We try to camp at Furnace Creek most every Spring. It is always a great time. We often have to deal with serious wind. The geology and history of the area keep us coming back.

The location is great for seeing the wonders of Death Valley. The camp attendants were very helpful. Having a planned short-term water outage turn into a restroom shut off and "boil your water only" situation was more than an inconvenience (it affected the whole Park). Better signage about the water boil warning was needed - hard to see the one sheet of paper in the dark and I am not sure everyone understood that the water they were washing their dishes with was not clean water. Hard to hold a flashlight and use a port-a -potty! But - the stars at night! The amazing change in the terrain, the ability to just simply be there fabulous!

Fantastic campground. A sink with 6 faucets?? Amazing. Great hosts and rangers - our original site was flooded and muddy and we were given a new, dry campsite.

Nice camping, liked it.

I came pretty late at about 6 pm - it was already dark as it was at the end of November. Unfortunately some guy was camping at my spot (I think he just didn't book one extra night and thought nobody would come for 1 night). As it was late I didn't care, just wanted to put a tent and sleep till morning and take of this guy early in the morning but when I found ranger he was gone.

Amazing Park, but tent only sites are very tight and not well marked.

I visited in mid-March and had a walk-in tent spot. Very nice spot where I could set up my tent under a tree that provided some nice shade. Campground is great for stargazing & convenience to gas, store, etc. Restrooms & dishwashing facilities were well maintained. The rangers were friendly & informative, especially about warning campers of impending high winds. This is the only bad thing about this location - very strong winds can kick up and cause nasty dust storms. This forced me to stay in my tent an entire day! This is the only reason I gave my experience 3 stars. But the location in DV and the campground layout & amenities are 4 star.

Decent place to stay and good experience overall. No soap in the bathroom was concerning especially given the current pandemic. The only other issue was that the ground on the tent sites was very tough and rocky which posed a serious issue in trying to stake down a tent but with some adjustment it was resolved in the end.

The Park Rangers were very nice. We didn't have a spot reserved for the next day but luckily there were some cancellations and we were able to snag another spot. I highly recommend getting reservations far in advance since the campgrounds were all full for the weekend. Be prepared for sunny weather and no shade. Campground overall was clean, safe, quiet and nice overall.

Great campground where the tents are separate from the RV's. A bunch of the tent sites have trees to stick your tent under.

A great place for base camp during our stay in Death Valley. Really centrally located to many of the park attractions. Will definitely be back.

Very convenient location, with close proximity to a suite of services which are otherwise not really available in the Valley. The CG is well maintained and well kept. But there's no escaping that it's in essence a largely-unsheltered parking lot. Very high density, quite exposed. There are a minority of sites with some shelter along the edgesthese are definitely the ones to seek out if possible. We were even able to hang a hammock in ours, and get some shade and wind protection, in ours. But a majority are unsheltered.Fantastic and unique park, of course.
