Great campsite. Note that the bathroom did not have soap (they did have great water and sanitizer). There's drinking water available right there as well.

The walk-in tent sites were as expected. Nice to have a bit of shade with the mesquite. Bathrooms with flush toilets a plus (and were decently clean).

Honestly a super nice campground. Hosts and staff were super nice. Its right next to the resort if you need anything. The tent spots were large. If you bring a second car it will have to park in the extra car parking spots but its pretty dang close. Great set up for water/bathrooms/trash. Worked out great for us, we had a blast

I reserved for two cars. Only had one parking space.
@ChristopherB30 · Camped on Mar 17, 2023 at Campsite #138
Sites are relatively large and spaced out. One parking space assigned per campsite. Very sandy/dusty. Had very intermittent cell signal at campsite; notifications were received but trouble sending messages out (AT&T). Bathrooms and outdoor sinks were generally clean, though when the campground is full there's a lot of competition for the space. Campground was centrally located, very close to Visitor Center, Furnace Creek Resort, Harmony Borax Works.

The campsite was clean and had the essentials. The information provided at the check-in was extremely helpful. The park was phenomenal. We will recommend to all!

The ground was not leveled. There were large holes on the camp ground by animals. There were no trash can. No ranger reinforced the night curfew. Our neighbor still talked very loud after 11 PM.

The campsite and attractions in the area were fantastic. The only thing keeping me from rating this a full five stars is the number of inconsiderate campers that we happened to be around. My suggestion is to pick a spot where you only have neighbors to the left and/or right and avoid anything with a site behind yours. Plenty of campers let their dogs run around the campsite unleashed which they ran next to my tent plenty. I love dogs, but Death Valley is not a place to let them run around untethered, let alone any national park. Aside from that, one neighbor was chopping away the vegetation to burn, and plenty were just very noisy. I walked around the park and found that many of the other sites were far quieter.

As far as things to do out there, just take a drive down any road and turn off at most any attraction and you will have great vistas in most any direction.

Best part of furnace creek? It’s Central location to most attractions in the valley and running water + flushing toilets. Besides that, standard campsite with very little to no privacy between some campsites. Great base for your day activities and a surprisingly good spot for some star gazing.

Sleeping in a Tent? Definitely bring ear plugs and sleep mask. You’ll be thankful you did.

Campsites are close together with no vegetation in between (this is the desert, after all). That means there's not much privacy between you and your neighbors. Fortunately, it was midweek and quiet. Also, there was no firewood for sale, and no business in the park had any. There was a shortage for some reason. Anyway, bring your own. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. Loved Golden Canyon, Fall Canyon, Artist's Palette (go there at sunset), and the crater.

Great campground and close to fun stops like the bad water basin and a short trip through artist drive to artists pallet, which was absolutely stunning close to sundown.

I'm more of a backcountry camper, and furnace creek consists mostly of closely tucked sites mostly suited to car and RV camping; however, thanks to fantastic staff we really enjoyed our time here. Bathrooms were clean, and the site was clean as well. Being Death Valley, campsites are pretty exposed and you're not going to find much shade here. Before arriving, I read about the need to park your vehicle away from your campsite, but at least for our site, that was only 20 yards away. That's a walk barely worth mentioning. I think Lyle and his wife (I'm not recalling their names) were extremely friendly and helpful, and the young lady working the entrance kiosk was great and full of information as well.

All great except for 24/7 generator noise for hotel Expansion. At night, this sounds like big noise from a nearby busy highway. Would never return to Furnace Creek Campground because of this.
