Spacious, shady spot! We were impressed with all parts of Death Valley - especially Golden Canyon, Badwater Salt flats, and Dante's View!

We have camped at Furnace Creek for over 30 years, rarely missing a year. The campsite arrangement is very cramped. Poor planning unless the only objective is to maximize profits. We had to utilize two campsites. One campsite had people sitting within 20 ft of our camp site and the second campsite we had people within 15 ft. The campground host tried to quiet our rude, incredibly close neighbors as they played ukuleles, harmonica and singing with raucous laughter. In a 3.4 million acre national park, I thought I could have enough space so I couldn't hear somebody chewing a potato chip from an adjacent site. The previous campsite arrangements were fine but your concession managers are squeezing every dime they can and making camping a poor experience after many years of wonderful camping. With the increased population of the campground, the bathroom is now inadequate. Only three stalls for the women's bathroom, please come see the line that forms outside the bathroom. In the tent camping area, there used to be a water faucet in the middle of the circular drive. It's gone so the crowd at the water station is large. There is lots of food debris in the sinks possibly because there is no garbage can nearby where people could throw their trash. No one's going to carry a cup full of food waste 75 yards to the dumpsters. Our opinion is not unique, we discuss the changes of the campgrounds with others and they felt the same.

The camping site was very spacious, clean and offered some shaded areas. We enjoyed our weekend, it is a great starting point to explore the park.

Great campground in the heart of the park, well situated next to amenities and equidistant from the main visitor sites/attractions. some spots are well shaded. highly recommend!

Staying here in the end of March was probably one of my all-time favorite campground experiences. The campground is stunning, in a central location in the park, and quiet both morning and night. It was a very relaxing and pleasant stay.

No showers in a place that has frequent wind gusts with dust. Water tubs to wash dishes were clogged and people were brushing their teeth in them. Kind of gross when you are trying to wash your dishes. Bathroom was not cleaned for three days. Trash all over and clogged urinal. No trash can in bathroom so trash left all over sinks. What happened to the US Park Service providing customer service? Camp sites were nice and spacious. Beautiful location.

I was surprised to see so many vacant campsites during our visit. Furnace Creek CG was 1/4 to 1/3 full. Yet when we arrived and the subsequent days the CG was signed "FULL". I talked to the personnel at the gate. She said they were mostly from "no shows" with a one-day reservation. This is a shame. I believe the reservation system should be modified to encourage would-be campers to cancel their reservation so that others can make use of the vacant sites.

We always enjoy camping at Furnace Creek. We were disappointed this trip to fine out that the Furnace Creek shower and pool facilities are no longer available to campers. However, you can drive 30 minutes up the road to Stovepipe Wells for a shower. They also have pool.
