Please consider reducing hours that generators can be used, the loudness factor of individual generators, and/or banning their use altogether. We had several nearby, including one that went until close to 11pm and another that ran all night. Completely ruined the camping experience.

My opinion is based on what I experienced. The name "Rainbow Point" appears deceptive and misleading: my "Rainbow Point" site was located behind the outhouse and smelled like campers could not make it to the outhouse on time, as though they peed on the ground throughout my campsite ("odor de essence"). You will need more than an odor neutralizer for this site. No showers, but that's ok. The access road was gravel, rutted, pitted and in need of repair. In fairness, the washouts may have been created by the rain. It was not good on the older 4 wheel drive we used. No care was taken to build a platform for a tent bed at my site. Instead of staying here, I highly recommend the Mammoth Campground. Mammoth, in my opinion, is far superior (like night and day). The rangers at Mammoth were friendly, available, knowledgeable, instructive, and helpful. Mammoth is prepared for tent camping (smooth platform tent beds) and the access road to each Mammoth site is paved. We saw Elk wander through the Mammoth campground (vs bear at the "Rainbow Point" site). The added bonus of Mammoth is that it is located near the north entrance and Mammoth hot springs, which will save a lot of driving time. It is also conveniently located a few miles from a business district for supplies. The Rainbow Point site was remote, away from the park and not easy to find. Sorry, but next time I will not stay at Rainbow Point.
