This was our first time staying in this campground. We booked it sight unseen. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. We had been told by friends we were camping with to fill our water tanks with the fresh water before entering the loop, since we thought there was water closer to our campsite. The only drawback was the amount of people driving up and down the road to the different loops on ATV's or cars exceeding the speed limit and the amount of dust clouds that followed. For the most part though the campground was clean and quiet. The access to the lake is awesome. The days during the week the lake was quiet, but over the weekend it was packed and loud with boats and music and families having fun at the lake. but at our campsite we couldn't hear it so it wasn't a big deal unless you were down at the lake. People in our group caught fish right from the banks of the lake! Cell service with AT&T was great. No problems with connections. The easy access to West Yellowstone was spot on for those little last minute things to buy at the supermarket or for a trip to the ice cream shop or shopping on a cold rainy day! It was a great time and we are planning another trip this summer.

A lot of dust

The campground, once you got to it was fine, but the 2 miles of dusty dirt road to get to the park was horrible. The car we we're towing was completely covered in thick dust as we're the wheels, sides, and back on our motorhome. The park was very nice and quiet but the road to it ruined it for us.

We had a nice time at Rainbow Point for 10 days. The sight was clean, all of the hosts were great (checked in on us for firewood but left us alone most of the time), the lake access was right across the road from our site (B20) so that was convenient, the bugs weren’t bad at all, and the bathrooms were clean. The lake did get a little busy but was nice to have. You can rent paddle-boards and kayaks from the hosts. The only negative thing about our trip is: The road to get into the campsite is awful. It’s gravel but has been graded into horizontal lines which cause crazy bumps. The steering wheel was shaking even when we only went 15 mph. Not sure why it’s like that. Also there is a lot of boater traffic coming and going from the lake nearby but overall, our loop was really quiet. We went into Yellowstone quite a bit for all day trips and our stuff was exactly as we left it. Overall, I would recommend this campground!
