Supersweet campgrounds. The sites on the upper loop are off the chart. #12 was stupendous

As usual, very clean and beautiful campsite. Thank you!

If you are camping in this valley, this is clearly the best campground as the other two are right off the highway. We stayed in the upper campground ( site 12). The sites are fairly large, all back up to the creek, all ( upper and lower) would be far enough from highway to not hear the noise. The upper campground is close to the trailhead so convenient to do a quick walk with the dog. Almost all the sites ( but not 12 for some reason) have bear proof food storage. Pit toilet clean. What I would add that has nothing to do with the campground but rather the whole valley, is that the traffic is heavy and ridiculously fast on the two line curvy highway. Coming from the north, there is a turn lane ( for a left hand turn) into the campground but none from the south for a right hand turn. Hiking is abundant and close by but again, you have to go out on the highway to access. My husband thought the forest service road above the campground would be great to motorcycle on but SO rocky, not very enjoyable. The trails are also very rocky in this part of Montana so watching your step is needed. Clearly this whole valley is being bought up, construction ( and the related traffic) is very high and sad to see Montana changing so much. It is very beautiful though.........

A lot of biting horseflies but they're easy to kill, some mosquitos. Peaceful and cozy campground with good space between each site. Close easy access to small active creek. Trail at end of road (trailer turn around up there too, jic, though road beyond camps is pretty rough), pleasant evening hike to pond and beyond with fishing available, judging by the hikers we saw going in and out with rods. Road to camps paved and good for trailers though narrow with turnouts. Potable water pump was rusty tasting but available. Vault toilets were clean and good maintenance. Appreciated the recycling station at lower camps.

Experience was great as usual. Camp site was immaculate as well as facilities. Our 5th year.
