Beautiful area. But there were many barking dogs which was disappointing

Went early in the tourist season (May 30 - June 1). Had 30-50 degree weather (My kind of weather). Gallatin River was adjacent - flowing fast and furious! Hiking trail was well maintained. Vaulted bathrooms were clean and supplied. 45 miles from West Yellowstone (One of the entrances to Yellowstone National Park). The drive was pretty and did partly go through the park (keep in mind, wildlife doesn't stop at a survey border...basically the Gallatin NF and Yellowstone are just names - the land is the land - the scenery is gorgeous people!) All in all, a good base camp area for the sights in that corner of the world.

Pretty campground right along the river. Can hear some highway noise. Sites well placed and spacious.
