We've been camping here for several years and have always enjoyed it. But this summer, we were shocked that due to the FS funding cuts by DOGE, there was no law enforcement available in the area. We were told by a FS volunteer there have been 2 assaults in the area, and we witnessed cars racing down the newly paved curvy roads past the campground at high reckless speeds, endangering all that happen to be on the road at the time. The volunteer told us this is now a regular thing up there. Not sure we feel safe to stay here next year.

Was a good time. gets a little noisey with the people parked above on the road playing music, they are out of the campground, but parked in the pullouts on the road. They need to put signs up and close them down at night.

Great camp space with distance between sites and fantastic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Camp host was a great resource and very helpful.

The site is in a beautiful spot and the camp site manager was responsive. We did however rent the handicap accessible site and found the access to the water subpar. A very mild grade down to the water should be the standard one would think. Steps even. But the new paving to the campground was nice.

Campground is awesome. Good facilities. Beautiful views. We hiked and kayaked!

The main road into Hyalite Lake campground, trailheads, etc is under construction, resulting in ALL traffic - to and from - being routed directly through the campsite on a very dusty, narrow road, just a few feet from many of the campsites. HUNDREDS of cars going in and out, day and night. Though we had a beautiful picturesque campsite right on the lake, the annoyance of the construction noise, the cars and trucks roaring by, and the dust resulted in this not being what we imagined for our camping experience. The campsites directly affected by all this should be shut down and not rented. BEWARE for anyone traveling to this area or holding a future reservation. Stay away!!!!

Having zero cell service alone is amazing! Beautiful views, clean and well maintained bathrooms and campground. We would camp here everyday if we could!
