the spot should really be closer to level for RV use

We were there midweek and the campground was clean quiet and uncrowned. We saw deer in the evening and some wild turkeys.

We really enjoyed the quiet & seclusion of site 41. That site could be more level, though.

The campground hosts do a great job! A non-weekend in early September at Rose Canyon was a great break from the city!

Nice quiet campground, not easy to find since most street signage is for the lake. Disappointed that our site was not level, so much so that our automatic stabilizers gave up.

Rose canyon is a great camping location, always clean and relaxing. We love going up the mountain to camp.

Wonderful,cool and peaceful. The crew has done a wonderful job of cleaning up after the fire and much of the undergrowth has been burned, but with luck and care there won't be another fire for awhile and everything can grow back. If you come, please be careful with your fire!

I've camped at Rose Canyon for years. The last time I took some friends up there to see the place I was denied using my Senior Pass to enter the park. I had to pay $10, the person in the booth said they no longer accept the card for day use, only for camping. The last time I camped I towed my vehicle up there with my motorhome and I was able to use my Senior Pass for half off the camping fee. Then when I got there they wanted to charge me $9 a night because I towed my car with me. That has never happened before at that park before or anywhere else for that matter. I don't think this is right that a motorhome is charged a fee for towing a vehicle. Most motorhomes tow a dingy so they will have a primary vehicle to use while they are camping. What's going happen next? Are they going to get rid of the Senior Pass all together??? I was very disappointed in the management up there. One of the camp hosts also had 7 dogs in the camp site. They would bark whenever the host was not at his site. Very annoying to campers.

The best camp hosts we've had over many years at Rose Canyon. All facilities are maintained perfectly. Damage from the fires last year is evident, but still this is a great getaway from Tucson. Sad to hear that many of the common sense courtesies and rules are being broken by local day-trippers who probably don't know how to respect the public-use space. But, the hosts are working their butts off to make things right there and my hat's off to them.
