Right on the bike trails. Low use after Labor Day but still hot in early/mid Sept. Jouflas #5 is the best site for shade but has a short walk-in; worth it. Not much 'blockage' between sites. Sites 2 & 4 on either side of the latrine.

I've camp here before. Don't mind paying, however if I had not been there before, choosing a site would be difficult. The photos are a nice touch, but don't really capture the whole perspective. Distance from restrooms is kind of a big deal, don't want to be down wind in summer heat.

Gem of a spot. Just fine with paying to use to support the long-term management and maintenance of this site. Perfect desert getaway under the stars. Brutally hot in the summer, but bearable once the sun sets.

Group capacity is WRONG. Tiny tent pads with no alternative locations. No campground hosts. A neighboring group in site 4 that arrived before us pitched their tent over our walkway and only ten yards from our tent pad - we get why, their group size was larger than one tent and it was the nearest flat spot- but we weren't able to carry the gear from our car without going off trail, we anticipated they were going to be loud, only ten yards away from our otherwise remote and quiet tent pad. The group was not present around dinner when we tried to set up camp to ask them to move, and we have a one year old so time was essential. We waited maybe an hour. There were no alternative sites open, no one to call, no campground host to consult. Our toddler was hungry and crying and we had to drive back to Utah. Literally the worst experience we've ever had, thanks to awful sites, poor management, and some casual selfishness from strangers. I didn't even try to get a refund. Might be my last time trying to reserve; we typically do dispersed camping but figured with our young child we should get a campground.

Nice little secluded campground if you are fine sacrificing ammenities. Its a 30 minute drive to the nearest gas and groceries, so keep that in mind. I used it as a base camp for hitting Arches, Canyonlands, and Black Canyon of the Gunnison, its a good middle ground for those 3 if you are fine with waking up early to get to those parks (about 90min drive for each). Site 5 is about 50 feet away from the road, so I wouldn't stay in that one again.
