We loved our site. We loved the wonderful 3 mornings that we got some great kayaking in. We loved the views. We loved taking our dogs to the water. Why not 5 stars? On 2 different occasions, we had loose dogs rush us as we were walking our leashed dogs. The one incident, nothing was done because the dog didn't make it onto the road before the owner grabbed it by the collar. The other incident, we were told that dogs out on the road are taken very seriously and the owners would be warned. The camp host was always out and about; on her bike, on her go cart & walking. Are we really supposed to believe that no one else had these dogs come after them when they walked past the two different sites? Because we didn't want to take the chance of the dogs still being unleashed, we walked thru the brush to walk our dogs. We had been told that probably there were no snakes but there were ticks. Ticks or dogs rushing at you? Great choice.

Clean and spacious sites, and very convenient stop over off Highway 50. Come in with a full fresh tank as sites didn't have water, plus park water gets shut off late September/early October for the winter months. Convenient dump station at the campground entrance/exit.

Fish cleaning station monopolized by commercial fishing guides. Campground visitors pay for the usage of station by fishing guides do not give access to visitors when they are using it!

Campsites were very nice. Campground host was very helpful. Potable water & dump station were easy and readily available. Visitor Center was under construction, but he NP Rangers were very helpful even in their temporary VC. Showers were a bit of an issue. They are available near the marina, but require you to have $3.75 in quarters for 10 minutes. If you wanted a 5 minute shower, you got a 10 minute shower for $3.75. There is nothing in between. Also, there are no coin machines to get quarters. You can get change from the marina... if its open. It closed at 5 when we were there. So if you want an evening shower, plan ahead.
