We were on the Ribbonwood loop (I don't remember which exact site) but this campground is wonderful overall. The bathrooms were maintained and always had toilet paper, and the sites were clearly marked and maintained. We did have fire ants at our campsite which was unfortunate, and our parking spot had so many anthills (of other kinds of ants) that we had to hop from foot to foot so no one hitched a ride. However, camping is outside, and there are bugs outside! You can hear the highway from the campground, as well as the moos of the cattle next door. There's a store for ice/food/supplies a couple of minutes down the road from the campground too. Overall would stay there again!

Facilities were clean. Campsite was good however there is an ant colony and there were thousands of red ants right where the tent would go. Some neighbors were a nuisance because they did not follow quiet times, had bright lights on all night and their dogs were not kept on leashes. Not the fault of the campground.

Was very peaceful and quiet on the weekdays we were there, but campground is overgrown with weeds, picnic tables desperately need refinishing.

Good location. Only 3 other campsites were occupied. No showers, but flush toilets and sinks. Campground was clean.

Nice campground. were able to visit Anza Borrego State Park, hike the Eagle Rock trail. Had lunch one day in Julian and stopped by for pie al la mode at Julian Pie Co on the way home.

Enjoyed the campground ... peaceful, camp host was friendly and attentive. Don't miss the metal sculpture garden and, of course, a winery or two. We enjoyed Sierra Roble and Hawk Watch. Thanks for a great weekend away from the cold mountain temperatures at home.

Camp is nice decent size for our pop up trailer at 25 plus pop out. Many sites are shaded with privacy bushes.Camp host disappears at 8pm so both nights we had campers close by up until 3am being very loud. So that was a major drag

The location was easy to find, as was the campsite and the camp wardens were super friendly and kept the bathrooms and sites clean. We went in Oct, and there were a lot of flies and red ant mounds, so I'd recommend taking precautions. There aren't trashcan at the sites either, so keep that in mind. There is a local gas station nearby with everything you could possibly need, if you accidentally left something behind or needed last minute firewood. Some sites don't have a lot of shade and some are very nice and shady. It was also nice at night for looking at the moon.I liked this campground a lot and would definitely go again.

Quiet hours were not enforced. At 1am people on Friday night in adjacent sites were loud. Several campers left the next day due to unpleasant experience. No one came to enforce or check on campground. Two sites that were to be First Come were reserved by USFS even though only one was occupied the other remained unoccupied or unavailable to campers. More sites need to be First Come instead of so many as reservable. Restore and open up the Camisa Loop for camping. It has been closed for over 10 years. Open it!
