We have camped and hiked at Laguna since the early '80's and have never had anything less than a 5 Star experience until this recent trip, which started with the booking experience. I booked and paid for Site 86, without realizing it had now been designated for "Large" RV's over 30'. Ours is less than 30', so I used the website to change the reservation to Site 75, which was successful. When we arrived, there was someone else's name on Site 75. On our way to the Camp Host we saw that 77 was available. We explained all of the above, and suggested we just move to Site 77, and the Host told used that we would have to pay to use site 77, even though we already paid for Site 75. It seemed that the booking system failed to record our change to site 75, even though I have a receipt and email proof, so our name was still on Site 86. At this point the host became completely unreasonable, so I told her that we would just go ahead and take 86, even though we were "too small" at 21'. We took about 30 minutes to level the RV, and set up camp. At this point the Host and her husband came by to inform us that we would have to move to Site 77! I told them we previously suggested that and were told we would have to pay again. They apologized and explained that now we would not have to pay. I told them we already set up and moving would be a big inconvenience, but that I would move the next day. They would not relent and insisted I pack up and movie immediately. At this point I asked about the policy of allowing "big" RV's to book any site in the campground, and to also have an entire section set-aside just for them as well. This is a fairly new, and very economically biased policy that penalizes those who do not have a large RV. I asked if a large RV were to book a spot outside the special area, would they be moved in the manner I was being moved for being too small. they said absolutely yes. so we ended up moving to Site 77 as requested. I am out of space, but this gets worse.

The road is very tight for large trailers. The railroad ties need to be moved away from the parking / camping spots and corners where you turn in at a minimum. I and others trying to camp were having issues getting their trailers backed in.

Good:Nice campground with beautiful hikes.Facilities are clean.Bad:However the RV sites are very difficult to level your rig. Our site (86) had a 10% side to side slope and front to back was also sloped but not quite as bad. Would have hoped since they graded the pad for asphalt it would have been a bit more level. Walking through the RV section almost all of the sites are unlevel.Beware the RV sites prohibit small trailers (less than 30'), RV Vans, truck campers. Seems too restrictive to us. I understand not allowing tent only camping but if you have a rig you should be able to camp there. Talked to the campground host and they said it was the "consessionaires" rules not theirs.

This was an awesome location, the camp hosts were awesome! Everything was great with the stay itself. Only reason it wasn't 5 stars is because of how unlevel the RV sites were. Virtually every one was extremely unlevel. Other than that everything was very very good. I can't emphasize enough how cool and friendly our camp hosts were. The sites were very clean.

We live an hour away, yet when we stay here, it's pleasant, quiet, and the spacing between sites is very nice, allowing you to stretch out, we book when we need to shut down, walking our dogs, our best friends, like it there too

Huge sites. Very quiet. Definitely not a “party campground” we felt bad even running our generator. But it was great. We had rv site 86 and loved it. Be cautious and being a lot of leveling blocks. The campsites are very inclined and we didn’t have enough blocks. Great spot though.

Laguna is one of my all time favorite campgrounds. The meadow is a perfect place to take the dogs and have a good hike. The only issue is all the short wooden posts that surround the roads to keep people on the road. We saw several cars back into the posts causing car damage. Be aware!

The sites were large and well spaced from each other. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained.
