We enjoyed ourselves for a three day get mid-week away just before Thanksgiving. The nights were cold and the first day was very windy. After that it was sunny and reasonably pleasant for December. Nice hiking. No hookups for campers or trailers. The dog had a great time. Along the sides of all in campground roadways they have placed 8" x 8" wood posts. These are to prevent people from willy nilly driving all over the place, The problem is, if you are not careful, you can get a long trailer hung up on these posts. Be careful! The nearest propane is 16 miles away. EV charging is over 20 miles away. Plan ahead.

Our campsite location was great. Campgrounds were decent -- downside was no flush toilets or sinks for washing dishes or brushing teeth. There are nearby showers, which we didn't use. We camped a few days before Thanksgiving and it was cold. So be prepared! The first night we were able to have a campfire in the pit. It was a little difficult to start because of the cold, but fortunately I brought my torch for plumbing repairs. Next time we'll bring lighter fluid. However, the second day the wind started picking up and there was a wind advisory issued. We were able to do some light hiking despite the wind; however, when we returned to our campsite we were told no fires because of the wind. We had a tabletop gas stove for backup, which we used the previous night; however, because of the wind and the cold it was difficult to heat up the food. After about 20 minutes, we decided to pack up and leave a day early. Many other campers left as well. I'm sure it's nicer during other times, but it didn't work out for us this trip.

Like the upgrades to the roads at Laguna campsite. Nice level parking areas for RV and non-RV's. Site 040 had a couple of semi-level places for tents. Camp table top could use some work (sanding/painting). Fire pit worked well. Nice to have firewood available for purchase; and for pine wood, it actually burned well (didn't burn up in 10 minutes like usual). Lot's of birds and squirrels. Very good upgrade on the vault toilets, and water source. Easy reservation process which took various discounts. Definitely be returning.
