We always love camping at Mt. Laguna campground and got our favorite spot. It rained, hailed and snow dusting. Had to leave early.

Excellent place to tent camp. Beautiful meadow, clean vault toilets, and nice fire rings. We had a great time.

Clean campground, friendly caretaker, and amazing trail access. Been here many times, and hope to be back many times more!

The Big Laguna Loop, Sunset Trail, are favorite hikes of mine... I typically drive the 1 1/2 hours from Oceanside, do a 10+-mile hike and drive home the same day... usually hitting Julian on the way home if I have time. Then I stumbled onto the campground when I added the Little Laguna Lake leg to a hike. So, I thought I'd make a reservation, pitch a tent at the edge of the meadow and stay a couple of nights. Good decision. Got in some great hiking and could relax at camp vs driving the 90 miles back to Oceanside. Stars were amazing, bathrooms clean and the fire-ring allowed for an ample campfire... which was great since it went down to 27 degrees... so glad I brought that propane heater!!! There is also a cool little barbecue restaurant and a general store 2 miles down the road... the general store is quite well-stocked and the restaurant had moose heads, stuffed black bears (sorry PETA) AND a great pulled pork sandwich!! Great experience. Host was very accommodating and friendly BTW.

The ranger that used to be here was super nice!! The new ranger is pretty rude. He was yelling at our kids to wear a helmet... First time in all my years of camping I've ever seen someone SO UPSET by this... Yet the campsite next to us had im not joking 20+ kids taking over our campsite, leaving bikes on our driveway, scooters, walking through, using the restroom not locking the doors and zero parental supervision. And also, no helmets :/ Yet you are worried about my two kids without a helmet yelling? When we were right there the whole time... We ended up leaving early bc we didn't feel like having someone else's kids constantly in our personal (and paid for!) space. The ranger should prioritize what they are mad about and at least be consistent... Not the best experience, if it is the same ranger and they are rude again we will probably not return.

This spot has the perfect view (#12). We waited until mid spring to try to get good weather, and it was perfect. The bathrooms are clean and the campground hosts are the friendliest I have ever encounter.

Campground has pit toilets and not flush toilets as described. It would’ve been good to know so that I could’ve been more prepared. Only stayed one night instead of the two nights reserved. View of the meadow made it all worth it though. Frogs in the small lake were the soundtrack of the night.

No one advised of the no campfire restriction until we got there

BEAUTIFUL! ! Managed a wonderful spot within a week of travel (surely must have had a cancellation). Just our luck. The Meadow was more beautiful that I expected during August. Weather was outstanding 75-80 with a nice breeze. My wife was excited to wake and find cows crazing in the Meadow. Our 4 year old had a ball learning to climb rocks with his rope! Bathrooms were extremely clean and both hosts we encountered were friendly and informative. This last stop was the best way to top off our little 4-day getaway (along with a slice of Julian Pie on the way back). We will definitely book here again!
