Beautiful campground

Roomy sites with a various degrees of seclusion feel. Day sites along the lake can be busy, but very nice to have the access.

We have enjoyed many stays at this campground. It's beautiful, quiet, we took nice walks to the lake. We are grateful for these experiences.

Our trips to Trail River are always enjoyable. The camping sites are always spacious, the bathrooms are always clean and well stocked with TP. We spent lots of time with our friends at their site(s) as well as our own. The fire pits are great as I always use them to cook meals on. It is not far from Moose Pass (THE COFFEE SHOP) so we drove into Moose Pass on one day and into Seward the next day. It should be stated that there is NO cell service there by neither AT& T nor GCI. However, Moose Pass has cell service by both carriers, so if necessary, you can always drive those few miles to make a call (and maybe get a coffee). It was refreshing to know that there are good people out there camping. A 2-year old boy went missing while we were there and EVERYONE joined in the search. He was found. It turned out to be a misunderstanding when the uncle took him for a walk and mom didn't hear him tell her. Nice to know how many people jumped in to help though.

Campground was clean and campsites were nice; however, during our two day stay the toilet paper was empty for half the visit, although the host went by the bathroom on two occasions during this time frame.

The RV site was perfect!! Quiet neighbors and beautifully laid out. The Hosts were also helpful in extending our stay! Would highly recommend.

Stunningly beautiful, close to excellent fly fishing opportunities, and a quintessential Alaska NFS campground. The roads are asphalt, as are most, if not all, site pads. The spaces are generously spaced away from one another and long enough for our 38 DP and our Jeep. No hook-ups, but we find that weeds out many and leaves the rest of us to have a much better (remote) experience. There is no dump station, so please empty your tanks before arriving and fill up with water.

This is an annual favorite for our family. Such a large and beautiful campground. Fun to bike around and water fun. We did a nice nearby hike this trip, wich was a bonus.

Great campground. However more speed bumps are needed. Vehicles speed in small roads coming into the campsites area and there were a lot of small children on bikes. It was not safe at all. There are speed limit signs but not being obeyed.

Sites 64 and 65 share a short walking path to the main road. It was nice having more privacy and having more distance to the main road to keep our toddler away from traffic. The bear box holds a lot, and it was conveniently located. I like that this spot was a short walk to the lake and outhouse.

This is definitely a campground that you should bring your kids, dogs, and bicycles to! Lots of laughter, fun, and friendship.

We always love staying at Trail River. We really enjoyed meeting the new managers and they were very helpful!

Only complaint is that the campground should have opened on the Friday before. Since it wasn't we came down that Saturday, and stayed until Monday. Very few spots were taken. Possibly because the campground was not opened on the Friday before.

We were there in early September. There were lots of empty sites and it was pretty quiet. We went hiking at nearby ptarmigan creek and that was really a great day.

This is an exceptional campground with sites that feel private and user-friendly. Our nearest bathroom had one side "out of order" but it was relatively easy to find another one. The shore on Kenai Lake is exquisite - quiet, serene, beautiful. The overall area is clean and well maintained and it is easy to book online which we loved.

Great access to Lost Lake trail, Harding Icefield trail, and not far from Seward. Beautiful big campground with clean outhouses.

The Kenai Lake that the campground is next to is beautiful. There are several nice hike in the area but I highly recommend the Lost Lake trail that starts at mile 5 from Seward. It is a moderate hike but also a favorite of mountain bike riders.

We had 8 adults and 18 kids. We did a side trip to Exit Glacier. It was down pouring rain. You can only take a wagon or stroller up so far before you just start hiking up. Walking the lake on a nice sunny day doesnt get any better

Trail River is a nice campground, and fairly quiet even when a lot of other campers are present. Campground hosts are always very helpful and do a great job in keeping everything clean.
@TravisS7511916 · Camped on Jul 7, 2024 at Campsite #80
Sites 78 and 80 were nice pull through sites that were a short walk from the lake. There was enough room for a trailer and large tent. The campground was very well kept. The majority of the spots on the lake are day use only.
@CherylJ2804884 · Camped on Jun 7, 2024 at Campsite #73
This spot is the 2nd best spot in the campground. It has a view of the lake but the day use area is below this camp site so lots of people walking back and forth

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
