Site 67 is a convenient site for lake access. During latter Sept 2024 lake levels were below the normal operating guide which made getting kayaks in and out of the lake challenging. Site was a little on the small side for a travel trailer, but still workable. Cell access (AT&T) in this location is good. Had to leave after two nights due to hurricane Helene, Forest Service closed the campground. Thankfully for the region, TVA had been operating the reservoir below the normal levels, so adding 10 feet of water in about 3 days was possible.

Little Oak is my favorite campground. We had an incredible time and the facilities were perfect!

Great place for bird watching, walking, biking, and putting your kayak in the water. Sites are private. Love it.

This is the lowest I have ever rated Little Oak. I love the location and the size of the sites, and I hope that doesn't change. However, the maintenance and security have declined to the point that I have to say something. They now longer lock the gates at night, so anyone can come, take what they want, and then leave. The hosts no longer try to enforce the rules. We complained to the host in Big Oak about people driving onto the point near the lake and partying and DRINKING until 3 or 4 am. We were told that WE should go down and tell them to stop!!?? When asked, we were told that the camp hosts were instructed to not confront anyone breaking the rules!? A ranger in only there one day a week now, so it is hard to catch him.

Another disappointment is maintenance at the park. There are only 4 shower each for the men and women campers at a campground with just over 70 sites AND two of those have been down for maintenance since early June. I was certain they would be fixed by July, but that wasn't the case. This trip found water pouring from one of the toilets in one of the two open shower rooms, and a sink that only half worked. I LOVE this campground and it saddens me that TWRA has allowed things to decline to such a degree.

This campground was great. We had a lakefront site with sunset views. Clean, quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. Will definitely be back. Would recommend to anyone. Just make sure that you review the site description before reserving.
