This is a beatiful and well thought out campground with large sites that are nicely spaced and mostly shaded. The only complaint we had was that there was trash left behind and nearly ever lake access point. I know this is on the campers, and not the campground per se, but some signage reminding the mouth breathers of the world to pack out their trash would help.

Overall it was a good place to camp, although if youre planning to go in July it was extremely hot and humid being that close to the lake. Also the bathroom had no lights or ventilation so it was very hot and dark in the bathroom. The area itself is beautiful and has a great atmosphere for a family trip, would consider staying here again during a different time of year.

Very nice visit! Over taken by ants, our son was bitten and had an anaphylactic reaction rushed to the ER by ambulance for treatment, after 2 Epi injections. It is nature and thats to be expected but it seemed to be an unusually large amount this visit

Nice campground with beautiful lake. Had an issue with extremely loud neighbor and no camphost was around when one was needed. Went to all three and no one was there. Also needed toilet paper in bathroom and a bear got in trash dumpster and no host to clean up the mess either...for days!

Best place to camp at South Holston Lake. I'd like say it was a terrible experience and no one should go there so Less people will invade this paradise but that would be lies and selfish behavior. We go here at least 2 a year for a week at a time and have a wonderful experience each time. Clean restrooms and bath houses and we love that there is no electricity on the sites.

Campground host was very helpful when we were having trouble with our pontoon boat. Offered to tow us if it stoped on the way to the boat ramp. Facilities were clean and well stocked. Campsite was clean.

We always enjoy camping at Little Oak! We recommend getting to the lake before the boats venture out for the day. They will take up the entire shore line if they are able too!! We always enjoy 4square, corn hole, bike riding and just sitting by the fire!

Beautiful setting, well maintained. I wish the accessibility here was universal in all our parks and forests campgrounds. Hemlock site 005 is particularly lovely for hammock campers with multiple hang options.

If you are a first time visitor to the park be aware that the last 8 miles into the park is a narrow twisting road. Drive with caution. Dont forget your firewood and supplies. The closest store is about 20 miles away. Theres a good launching ramp If you are bringing a boat, Hemlock and Big Oak are the best loops for boaters. Easy riding inside the camp for bicycles and outside as well with minimal traffic on the paved and gravel roads. The Poplar loop has good cell service.

Great place to camp. I just wish all loops had been open. Very nice spots unavailable due to the loops not being open

Site 67 is a convenient site for lake access. During latter Sept 2024 lake levels were below the normal operating guide which made getting kayaks in and out of the lake challenging. Site was a little on the small side for a travel trailer, but still workable. Cell access (AT&T) in this location is good. Had to leave after two nights due to hurricane Helene, Forest Service closed the campground. Thankfully for the region, TVA had been operating the reservoir below the normal levels, so adding 10 feet of water in about 3 days was possible.

2 ceiling fans on the men's side of restrooms have been non working for over 3 months. These fans help oxygenate the stalls during hot showers. The steam is so overwhelming when you get finished showing, you are sweating more than when you first went in. There are ventilation ducts in the ceiling but these ducts are not visible when viewing top of roof, so.....what is THEIR purpose? Clean, regularly serviced and in good repair are the Forest Service Recreation Customer Service Standards quality service goals. I would like to see these fans fixed and so would others. THANKS!!

We love this campground and have been camping here for over 30 years. We go during the week and avoid weekends because we are there for boating/fishing and don't like a crowded lake. We are also boondockers and don't care about utility hookups. Be aware there aren't any. There is potable water available and a good dump station. It is quiet during the week. I can't give a top rating because the central bathhbouse is in need of TLC and repairs. There is a good boat ramp available. Take everything you will need, it is a long drive to civilization. We will be going back soon.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
