I've been camping here for over 40 years and love the campground. We had great hosts on Hemlock Loop this trip. The loop bathroom and camp sites were neat and clean. The campground's central bathhouse sux. Poorly maintained. Towel and clothing hooks missing and the shower is a terrible design. Need better shower heads. Word to the wise, only wear your bathing suit and flip flops into the shower. Water sprays everywhere and anything you take in is going to get wet. I wish they had left the individual loop showers. I have expressed these issues before but nothing changes except the fees.

We love this campground and have been camping here for over 30 years. We go during the week and avoid weekends because we are there for boating/fishing and don't like a crowded lake. We are also boondockers and don't care about utility hookups. Be aware there aren't any. There is potable water available and a good dump station. It is quiet during the week. I can't give a top rating because the central bathhbouse is in need of TLC and repairs. There is a good boat ramp available. Take everything you will need, it is a long drive to civilization. We will be going back soon.

We've been camping at Little Oak for a long time(40 years) and have never had a bad experience, except when the weather did not co-operate.

Little oak is our favorite place to camp. And we love that it is so close to home.

Our experience was great as usual. Hosts are knowledgeable and friendly. Campsites are well maintained for the most part. Some campsites could use more rock.

Labor Day week, 2021. This trip was nice and peaceful. The campsite was level, the weather was good, and the neighbors were peaceful. Lots of local campers like to bring boats along and tie them up next to their site. Which is cool if you have a boat. If you like to ride a bike while camping, you can get several miles in on good roads. The bathrooms don't have soap, so plan for that if you tent camp. I can only think of 2 real negatives. We had a 10-12' blacksnake go by our site and their were several huge hornets in the woods around us. They apparently don't like LED lighting as they banged into the windows on our camper the whole time we had them on. Two flew in when we opened the door once (sent me running) and one found another way in thru the canvas in our pop-up (again, sent me running). There are no camp supply stores nearby, come prepared with plenty of wood. It was an hour round trip to the closest store to get ice. Marinas may have been closer, but without a boat.....they aren't on the main road. The sunsets can be beautiful if you're in a good spot. Very picturesque. The lake is a good fishery and the campground has plenty of sheltered waters for kayaking.

SOHO is a beautiful lake. We have loved this campground for many many years and go for a week every June, more often if possible. It is a nice campground (no hookups but water is available, and has a dump station). It is peaceful, quiet and kid friendly. Alcohol and partying is not tolerated. The biggest negative is the shower/bathrooms are poorly designed. You cannot shower without wetting the entire room including the dressing bench. So hang your clothes high and wear flip flops. If you take a boat choose your site wisely. There are not any no wake zones around the campground except the launch ramp which is ignored. Plenty of inconsiderate/ignorant boaters who will fly by and their wake will pound your boat against the bank. Due to the lowering of Boone Lake for dam repairs the number of boats docked and weekend traffic has doubled. So we have avoided weekends for the past 4-5 years. Take what you need for it is many miles to even the closest convenience store.
