The host is there but pretty much nonexistent. Did not know how to check in for a reservation and read everything on the board and still had no clue. I was in site 1 and when i say the rushing water was loud im not joking. No service on att and tmobile. I was there for only an hour and within that time my car was swamped with fire ants and spiders. Plus the site was dirty with rubbish. Clearly the host isnt really a host more a land renter. Site 1 is also located right next to the trail parking so zero privacy and you have to question why am i paying when they dont have too for literally the same kind of spot, if not cleaner. Ended up leaving and staying at cherokee rest stop 15min down the road. Will not recommend or be back to this campground.

Stayed 2 nghts in December, it's a good place to access trails and the Ocoee and still car camp. There was only one other site occupied on the opposite side, but the sites seem pretty close together. I wouldn't camp here during peaks season.Bathrooms clean and well maintained.

Had a great time at Thunder Rock campgrounds. It was rustic but so relaxing. My campsite was backed up to the river and you could hear the running water all night. Very pleased that they had clean restrooms and the grounds were also taken care of. No blaring music all night all the campers were friendly I would highly recommend.

Excellent campground, very nice sites. Be sure to bring a tight fitting PFD. The Caney Creek runs along the side of the campground from the generator till where it becomes part of the Ocoee. You can jump into the (extremely fast and cold) Creek and swim out about 300 yards down at the boat ramp. It's a ton of fun, but requires a PFD (not only required by law but also extremely recommended). Bathrooms weren't the cleanest, but they had flushing toilets and hot showers (more then enough if you ask me). Excellent location if you're coming to kayak or raft the Ocoee. Highly recommend spending some time in Copper Hill, TN and Blue Ridge, GA. Both less than 30ish minutes from the campground.

Spectacular views and lots of places to explore in the Cherokee National Forest. We checked out the Ocoee Whitewater Center, Mac Point Beach, Clemmers Trailhead, went whitewater rafting and floated down the river behind the campsite. Would love to visit again and check out more of the many trails in the area.

Its a nice campground but its too close to hwy 64, i was woke up several times through the night by big trucks using jake brakes and loud cars. Also theres no privacy, the campsites are all real close to each other and everyone can see what everyone else is doing.

amazing experience. The tent sites T1, T2, T3 should be noted as part of the parking lot even thought they are not.

We love Thunder Rock Campground because the river and trails are so accessible. Thanks for taking such great care of the place so we can continue to enjoy it!
