Quiet and our space was far enough apart from others. Loved the pond to swim in! Cant wait to go back!

Great campground! Make sure you pack accordingly, no camp store and its a lengthy trek up the mountain to get there. Would definitely camp here again.

It rained the whole time but it was still a great vacation! The bath house was clean. The hosts were attentive. We will definitely be back to enjoy the mountain more.
The only con were the confusing directions. Took 2 hours to get to camp. The original directions would’ve gotten us there in about 20 minutes. The app was the issue, not the campground.

Love it at Chilhowee Campground. Nice and quiet and spacious sites. Good hiking trail to Benton Falls.

The drive up was beautiful! The lady camp host whom I interacted with was lovely.Large spots, lots of tree cover. We stayed in The F- loop and it was much more secluded than the others which we prefer. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were hot! Awesome experience!

Love this camp area and the day area. We enjoy the peace of being out there and were satisfied with the upkeep. Walked the loop one morning and it was nice.

Love the setting. Trails are great. Showers were either freezing or literally, scalding. Wish they could have got it right. Were there 9 days.

Our favorite place to go for a mini family vacation! Plenty of things to do (good trails to hike, beautiful waterfall, fishing in the lake, etc) while still feeling remote and disconnected from the world. Bathrooms are always clean. We can't wait to go back next fall!

Chilhowee has always been a go to stop for us when it comes to Bike Packing. The Chilhowee and Cherokee National Forest trail system that is connected via Clemmer trail is a Southeast classic and there is easily 100+ miles of single/double track trails and forest roads with plenty of elevation and scenic turn offs to challenge any hiker or cyclist. We enjoy Chilhowee's campground area due to it's ease of access, showers, readily available spots even in peak season and access to other campgrounds for hiking or biking point to point inside the Cherokee National Forest. Only turn-offs are the campgrounds tourist/vacation like atmosphere. Very few nights we have stayed where there wasn't generator noise, car alarms and radios going off in the night no matter what section you end up staying. The campground leans to be more accommodating to weekend visitors who are there for grill outs and playing on the beach which is probably expected. Overall its a great campground to start an adventure, but I would only recommend it as a starting or ending point.
