Hidden gem. Great facilities, lake is Hawaii warm. Some of the sites are a steep drive in/out, 4x4 definitely bailed us out as we were towing a trailer lol!

Great week at Morganton Point. Nice quiet campsite (26). Short stroll to the lake. Excellent campsite host. Clean bathroom. Great place to camp when visiting area apple houses and vineyards. Delicious barbecue nearby - Mike's Trackside Bar-B-Q.

We just love Morganton Point. Clean campsites, clean bath houses. Quite at night. Beautiful trees and a beautiful lake. The camp host is very friendly and helpful. We come here every year.

Morganton Point campground is a peaceful setting amid trees and boasts several campgrounds with lake views in a 'get-away from the hustle and bustle' type of location. Our site was spacious with a steep access drive and was visible from several other campsites. While it appears that some recent gravel work was added to several sites, the roads through through the grounds need potholes repaired. In the week that I stayed, I had very little interaction with the camp host, but did rouse someone at the somewhat dilapidated host trailer when the main bath, a spacious facility, completely ran out of toilet paper. While Morganton, itself, isn't much of a tourist destination, we found some touristy experiences around the towns of Blue Ridge and Ellijay. The lake looked like a great destination for kayaks or fishing. In all, the campground met my expectations for a scenic location.

Hosts were very nice and met us at our site for check in. Bathrooms were extremely clean and all the staff we encountered were pleasant to interact with. Several sites required a bit of leveling but were doable. It was our first time here and we will definitely be back.

The good: The location is nice, wooded, close to lake and close Blueridge GA. We were there in the fall so the lake had already been let down for the winter. The not so good: The sites are difficult to get into & out of, roads are narrow and ridden with potholes. The campground hosts were new but nice.

When we arrived at the campground we were greeted by a guy that was either the maintenance guy or host. He walked down to myself and handed me a piece of paper and then said with an attitude, “you’re name?!” Told him my name and then he said those are the campground rules turn over on the back there is a number, call it if you need something. I asked him about firewood and if the bundles were fair good size. He said, “ I don’t know, it’s wood!” Then he left. We stayed here an entire week for vacation and it did rain the entire time we were there other than our last day. Overall the campground is nice. But the host definitely needs to be a lot more friendlier to guest and more helpful. Even when walking around or passing him on his golf cart, when we would wave he wouldn't wave back. The main bath house was very nice but the second bath house across from where we were staying was never cleaned the entire time we were there, bugs laying on the floor in the shower, and trash in the trash can piling up. This bathhouse could also use some refurbishment but it’s not bad, just older. Will we return, not sure unless there are much nicer camp host.

We enjoyed camping here and being by the lake. Bathrooms were fairly clean and camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. Campsites where we stayed were all pretty sloped so it was hard to set up chairs and a big group. Would be nice to have more flat space. Otherwise, it was great.
